The NORMAL parents should boycott the school......
I agree completely, although full State and Federal support of Charter schools would make such a boycott far easier for law-abiding parents who wish to do the right thing for their children yet do not wish to be jailed for failing to send their children to school. Government schools will be made better by competition from private and charter schools, and charter schools will be best supported when given the same State benefits and recognition as Government schools.
There is a great deal of work that remains to be done.
When the teachers get laid off, the freedom of religion would return quickly.
Very true. Hopefully parents will be given options that will prevent such drastic measures, however.

Not only should parent boycott the school but the parents involved should sue the administration for a violation of their 1st Amendment rights to exercise their beliefs freely.
I want to know why lawyers never invoke the second piece of the religious clauses of the 1st Amendment. Our founding fathers wanted to protect the citizenry from an intrusive government infringing on our rights to exercise our beliefs freely. This is not a free speech problem!
