KHOW's Peter Boyles announced a live debate from Denver City Attorney Cole Finegan and Congressman Tom Tancredo at 8 AM. Finegan criticized Tancredo's 5-11-05 press release condemning The City of Denver's Sanctuary policy, which lead to the death of a Denver Cop on Sunday.

The City of Denver is circling their wagons, and attacking Tancredo now.

This should be good. Free to listeneners, but you must register.

KHOW will usually save for streaming audio, clips of outstanding interviews and recordings. Look for it tomorrow on the Peter Boyles page.

I can predict the "debate" with Boyles and the city attorney attacking Tancredo. You should expect to hear the words and phrases like: racist, anti immigrant, right winger, far right winger, pandering to his conservative base (who are racist) with a few remarks thrown in about Rep. Tancredo being a homophobe, anti feminist, anti choice and maybe if Boyles gets on a roll how Tancredo broke his promise to only run three times. Plus how Illegals worked on the remodeling of Tancredo's house. Then the city attorney will relate Tancredo to the Columbine shooting and Boyles will refer to the murder of Alan Berg as if Tancredo supporters did the killing. Oh yeah! I can hear it now. Nope, I don't need to stream Peter (I am the smarted man in Denver) Boyles to know how this "debate will go.

I don't always agree with Boyles, but he does make one think.

besides, Tancredo DID break his promise to run for only 3-terms.

It's amazing how quickly the pro immigration "conservatives" adopt liberal tactics to attack the anti illegal right.

No matter how hard appeasement republicans hope this goes away before the elections, it isn't going to.

Sanctuary city policies of Denver and others were put to task by Tancredo. (amendment in Congress proposed by Tancredo would seek to withold Homeland Security funds to such cities)

I don't see a problem with keeping money away from appeasers who won't use it for it's intended purpose.

from a quick google of 'sanctuary cities'

In an effort to curtail the Sanctuary City policies, federal legislation was passed in 1996. The legislation required local officials to assist federal authorities, and share immigration information on detainees. Unfortunately, that legislation provided no penalties for cities that ignored the law. As a result, Sanctuary Cities still exist, and in an underhanded way, city officials still refuse to allow local law enforcement to assist federal officers, thereby impeding federal immigration law enforcement. Since 1996, there have been several attempts to pass legislation that would withhold federal money from these Sanctuary Cities, but in every case, the legislation was defeated by the pro-illegal immigration lobby in the U.S. Congress.

Neither do I! I think it's great what Tancredo is proposing.

And yes, I suppose my posts were a bit schitzophrenic. hehe Just trying to get the main points for those who can't listen for whatever reason. :)

Tancredo addresses House of Representatives - July 9, 2003

IMMIGRATION PROBLEMS: Sanctuary Policy and Crime

"So this law that was put in place in 1996 says, you know what, States, cities? You cannot do that. You cannot establish your own immigration policy.

Now, the amendment that I was going to offer that evening was an amendment to the Homeland Security Act; it was the appropriations bill for homeland security. It was an amendment that simply applied if a State is in fact violating this law. Again, I have to go back and say this law is on the books today. I did not create it. I was not even here in the Congress when it was passed. But it is on the books."
