Its always interesting to see how relatively lowly "professions" try to pump up their self esteem by acting like they're doctors or something.

I'm sure the guy who empties my garbage can could make all kinds of useful health recommendations to me given the quantity of beer bottles and cigarette packs he's likely to find there, but that doesn't mean I want him to.

I was looking around on our state's website just earlier, and did you know you need a license to feed garbage to a pig in Ohio? Yup. $50/yr.

Free country, huh?

Yes, you are correct. Ohio requires licenses for many activities that not even NH has thought to tax yet. However, we (NH) do not have a sales tax, an income tax, capital gains tax, or several other tax vehicles that the other 49 states impose on their residents. Consequently, in order to finance the state budget, other annoying fees and hidden taxes are in place. As a small business owner, you just can't beat $100 to register a corporation, though. Yes, Mr. fisher might have a problem paying a $50 fee to register as a manicurist. However, I would be willing to bet that this is a requirement in almost all other states. And I would be willing to bet the other states charge a whole lot more than $50 for the privilege.
