"The conservative movement has passed into history,"

Just like 1948.

And 1960.

And 1964. Especially 1964.

And 1972.

And 1974.

And 1976.

And 1988. And 1992. And 1996.

Yep, that rascally old conservative movement, always passing into history and all.

Huffington is actually saner than Leonora Fulani, so he'll probably avoid it.

You don't have to like Buchanan to agree that he's right on this issue. There are indeed big-government advocates who are trying to pass themselves off as conservatives. They need to be "outted".

I can't disagree with that statement. A lot of them post here at FR too.

I have had recent exchanges with people who support the death tax, support smoking prohibitions on private property, maintain that groups have rights, support the use of US military to police the world, favor isolationism in trade, support the "patriot" act, think that Bill Gates and other rich liberals should have their money confiscated, and advocate the suspension of individual rights if the majority agrees.

All represented themselves as conservatives and their positions as conservative. All right here on FR.

Pat is one of those what I call "viewpoint subsidization guys." He is not for small government and he is not for free markets. Rather, he has romantic notions about traditional cultural values and he seeks to use the government to impose his vision.

But you can't be in favor of small government and still seek to control peoples' lives. You have to leave it to the marketplace. If Pat's overly romantic notions can't cut it in the marketplace of ideas or the commercial markets, then his vision for society deserves to fail. That is why what Pat wants is the government to subsidize his ideas - his vision can't hack it in the market. But like all government subsidies, cultural subsidies are doomed to failure.

"I also find his singling out of Giuliani and Schwarzenegger from the 2004 RNC unfair."

You prove him to be correct with your support for RINO's

If Pat is right he will be leader of the conservative movement. He is nobody but a bitter loser.

Ah the irony.

Pat throws in his lot with Commie rat Lenora Fulani, and he's whining about Conservatism being dead. (Notice she always wears red.)

I think Pat has a screw loose...

Two words descibe Pat Buchanan's "conservatism": Lenora Fulani.

I also find his singling out of Giuliani and Schwarzenegger from the 2004 RNC unfair.

They're both abortion cheerleaders and they're fair game.

They're RINOs, plain and simple.

Of course, so is a guy who allies himself with the abortion cheerleader Lenora Fulani.

Unlike many other conservative spokesmen, Mr. Buchanan has done battle in the world of real politics.

Dear Pat,

You left. We have NOT welcomed you back. Therefore, stop telling us what war we will or won't have. You are a non-factor by virtue of your own actions. Enjoy your continued irrelevance and keep those MSNBC appearances up. You really are a ratings magnet.

Love,

The Republican Party and Most Conservatives.

P.S. Sure, most conservatives agree with you that the border is a mess, spending out of control, etc. but we just don't like YOU.
