You answered your own question : since Israel's security depends so heavily on US support, then Israel is vitally interested in knowing what the US knows, what the US wants, what the US is up to. Pollard probably wasn't the first American citizen to work for Israeli intel, and he sure won't be the last.

Meanwhile, Israel is probably going to end up throwing Mordecai Vannunu back in jail for violating the terms of his parole (he blew the whistle on Israel's nuclear secrets and spent 18 years in jail in Israel after the Mossad set a trap and nabbed him abroad).
If Pollard should be released, why would Vannunu have to go back to jail?
