You will forgive me if I don't hold my breath. Seriously, the GD Arabs need to be moved out and the serious archaeological digs under Jerusalem should begin. There is more down there of the ancient world than we dare hope, but the Mohammedans riot every time anyone gets close to the Temple Mount.

P.S. The real Arc of The Covenant - or a facsimile made from the original by the son of Solomon and Sheba - is in Ethiopia, in a monastery on an island in the middle of a lake. No word if there's anything inside.

The Talmud says the Ark is hidden in a secret passage under the Temple Mount. Jones says that in fact, the Ark was brought through a secret passage beneath the mount – but that that same natural tunnel continues 18 miles into the Judean Desert to the Valley of Achur.

That's nonsense. The History Channel says the Ark is in Somalia, or some North African country. The History Channel wouldn't be wrong, would it?

Vendyl Jones is an uncharming charlatan.

He often claims to be the inspiration for Raiders of the Lost Ark, but he isn't. And Raiders was written by George Lucas and Phil Kaufman, not Randolph Fillmore.

It is typical of Jones that he sees himself as the personal messenger of the end of history. No other role would fit his ego.
