Ron Smith's "Something to Say" Commentary
Demographics and Destiny {The Mexican Invasion}

Ron Smith
Make sure your kids learn to speak Spanish, folks, because the USA is fast becoming Hispanicized. There will come a time and a not too distant one in which it will be a severe disadvantage in many parts of the land not to be fluent in Spanish.
To wit: Los Angeles voters have elected a Latino mayor, city councilman Antonio Villaraigosa, who ousted incumbent James Hahn and thus became the City of Angels first Hispanic mayor since 1872.
Demographics are destiny, and the election of Villaraigosa a demonstration of the demographic reality of the Los Angeles area, which is more and more Latino. Millions of Mexicans have flooded into California by means both legal and illegal, and they have now demonstrated their electoral power.
Remember the billboard ad for a Latino TV news program? The one that crossed out CA after Los Angeles, replacing it with Mex? It caused a nationwide fuss, but after all is said and done; it was a simple statement of onrushing reality.
The Reconquista of the lands taken from Mexico in the middle of the 19th century is well underway. Those who deny it are either oblivious to it or disingenuous about it.
Our political leaders and their media lapdogs tell us that there is no reason to worry about these trends; after all, this is a nation of immigrants, that they are net contributors to our social well-being.
Truth is, theres plenty of reason to worry. Consider the fact that in California, which is the largest state with a majority non-white population, about half of Latino and black students fail to graduate from high school. The cost to taxpayers of this massive exodus of students before finishing the 12th grade is estimated in the billions of dollars because of resultant higher unemployment and higher crime rates.
The die is cast, and proof of that is in how politicians are adjusting to the situation. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is airing television ads in which he speaks Spanish to reach Latino voters. U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez was the featured speaker at the Capitol Hill Gala of the National Council of La Raza, which means, the race, a Hispanic advocacy group that opposes any proposal to curtail illegal immigration.
Democratic Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut addressed the same gathering in Spanish and told them he supported the so-called Dream Act, which would give illegal aliens cut-rate, in-state tuition at American colleges and universities.
Couple this with President Bushs preternatural eagerness to obliterate our border with Mexico and his willingness to ignore the wishes of the vast majority of his citizens on this matter, and you begin to understand that whats happening in California is a harbinger of whats to come for the rest of us.
Adios.

All, Ah-yup. Peace and love, George.
Guys, Ron is, like it or not, Right on. And, TOP politicians are enabling this envasion. Peace and love, George.
This is already somewhat true. If you want to work as a clerk in a store or even at the oil change places where I live, you have to be bi-lingual.
........and, IT"S ALL BUSH'S FAULT
Can whites now apply for affirmative action?

Bese mi asno....
Let me clarify that...MEXICO...Bese mi asno.
Maybe not ALL his fault, but he sure has been helping it along.

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
bttt

George, thanks for the post...a very good one.
Mornin', Trav. Some folks are finally opening their eyes.
"Some folks are finally opening their eyes"
Not nearly enough or fast enough.
Bump!
Amen
There is not much need to worry. Drugs mainly just transit through Mexico on their way to the rich market in the United States. Not many people in Mexico use drugs because nobody can afford them. As the reconquista progresses that will soon be the case in the USA too and then the drug problem will be solved. Isn't that great!?!
I almost said 'too little, too late' in that post, but decided I didn't want to sound too much like a defeatist.
Trouble is, I see too much defeatism in my daily life. Too many individuals are just accepting what's happening with the attitude that they can't change anything. I want to just shake 'em like doll rags when I hear that.
Image a politican addressing a white group that called itself "the race"? Can you imagine the outrage and condemnation by the liberal media and liberal Democrats? Sad to say folks, that this is the end of the America that we knew while growing up as kids. We are being transformed into a 3rd world country right before our very eyes while our elected officials pretend not to notice.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
Be Ever Vigilant!

The one thing that divides people most is language.
Differing customs and cultures are pretty much overlooked by most societies. Language, on the other hand, not only can divide a country, but it can Balkanize it.
We have only to look at Canada to see how two peoples of differing languages can create hostile attitudes within one country.
So, we are told that English speaking Americans must learn Spanish, while liberals "suggest" that Mexicans learn English. All of this is coming at a time when English is the new global lingua franca. The disadvantages of downplaying English can be obvious to anyone but liberals.
Damn right and I dont mean it in a sarcastic way - Bush has the bully pulpit to fix the problem. America both dems and republicans want the border enforced and illegals sent back - stop all benefits. Bush, RINOs and Rove are the problem and the more he ignores it the more it is going to hurt the republican party.
Bump!
While it's true that L.A. has a large "Latino" population, our longest serving mayor was Tom Bradley and he didn't reflect the demographics of the area.
Saying California is "more and more Latino" is to miss the point. We are "more and more" illegal aliens from Mexico and their numerous offspring are getting a public "education" that I don't believe will serve us well in the future. Lefties can yammer about being "inclusive" 'til the cows come home, but all of this I-am-persecuted-victimology crappola in the schools is making for a lot of little Viva La Razas in training.
Underneath it all, Villaraigosa is just one more slimeball politician (to me, all politicians are slimeballs until proven otherwise) so I'll be taking anything he says with a grain of salt. I have heard him say more than once that he is an American of Mexican descent and though he may secretly harbor MeCha ideology, I have yet to hear him talk about it.
In closing [she said to the sounds of wild applause], L.A. has more problems than Villaraigosa being elected and I don't really see his victory as a big bad omen. (Even though I am going to hit the Post button in a couple of seconds, I'm left wondering if I had a point to make here. Oh, well.) =:0
Que sera, sera y hasta luego.
'We're all Angelenos' says L.A.'s Latino mayor
Villaraigosa, who is more fluent in English than Spanish, had played down his ethnicity, relying on charisma to build alliances with blacks, liberal whites and moderate Republicans.
But political experts said he would be foolish to ignore lingering unease among many in the city over its shifting demographics.
"The fact that Antonio is Latino will bring those issues right up to the forefront rather than sweeping them under the rug," said Fernando Guerra, director of the Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.
"I think he would govern at his peril if he tried to ignore that. He [Villaraigosa] is going to have to demonstrate that he will be a mayor for all of Los Angeles. Given his personality and background, I have no doubt he will do extremely well in that area," Guerra said.
Have you noticed how the media go out of their way to avoid using the label "illegal alien." The popular new term is "undocumented worker."
Sure, here is another one: "Undocumented Entrant" which became an "Entrant"!
By definition, you or I could be called an entrant if we step out to Canada and re-enter! Lovely, isn't it?
My cousin, a retired detective for the Compton (CA) PD, was one of two caucasians working for them years ago.
He won a reverse discriminaiton suit against them, when they took him off the streets, and put him in a file room, after he busted a crime ring working within the (at the time, pending) Compton Casino.
I think, if I remember correctly, the then police chief (or other "official") was involved in the racket.
Of course, the fact that Hahn was a complete waste of air, space, and time sort of already pushed "it" to the forefront.
Villagairosa will have his hands full just trying to balance the wildly divergent expectations, he's more likely to hit a wall early than to tip the scales any further.
And, as noted earlier, Bradley was here long time; LA isn't all that concerned over where the current crime lord came from. (Note, the millions of illegals we now host don't share any traditional local attitudes & could easily be Villaraigosa's biggest headache.)
(Note, the millions of illegals we now host don't share any traditional local attitudes & could easily be Villaraigosa's biggest headache.)
That's what I'm counting on. Since the L.A. gov't. won't fix the potholes, the least they can do is provide me with some cheap entertainment.
BTW, was "Villagairosa" a typo or are you a xenophobic homophobe? :-)
I've been vacationing to the southeast coast, and the people I have talked to are seething against their government. There are so many illegals there, taxes are going through the roof in order to pay for their health care and education. People are in an ugly mood, which bodes well for Hillary when she runs. Don't look for the Republicans to do anything on illegals - neither will Hillary, but most dummies don't know this.
