Police: Man Set Girlfriend On Fire

Helen Clark Finch Has Burns On 80 Percent Of Her Body

POSTED: 5:18 pm CDT May 18, 2005

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are searching for a man they said set his girlfriend on fire early Wednesday morning.

Witnesses rushed to save the woman who emerged from her south side apartment in flames at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

"She was just burning. She was actually burning from head to toe. Burning, on fire," neighbor Carla King said. "When I came out, she was laying out here burning."

King said her neighbor, Helen Clarkfinch, was rolling down the hallway ripping her clothes off, screaming at the top of her lungs.

"We took a fire extinguisher, put her out and called 911," King said.

At the same time, witnesses said, the woman's boyfriend, Tommy Wells, was running out of the building -- screaming for her to burn.

"He was saying yesterday (Tuesday) he was going to get her, but he always used to tell us he was going to get her, and whatever, but actually it really happened this time," neighbor Toya Jones said.

Neighbors said the 50-year-old woman they all called, "mama," and her boyfriend argued often, usually accusing the other of cheating and usually while under the influence of alcohol.

"You know they'd argue, but then next thing you know they're kissing and hugging. So I didn't think this was serious," King said.

...So I didn't think this was serious," King said.

A slight miscalculation.

At the risk of being totally offensive and classless...

Q: What do you do if you see your ex-girlfiend writhing around on the ground in agonizing pain?

A: Shoot her again.

Woman Charged With Cutting Husband's Penis

WAUPACA, Wis. - A rural woman was charged with substantial battery for allegedly cutting her husband's penis with scissors — an injury that required 15 stitches to repair.

A criminal complaint said the husband let his wife, Theresa L. Hedtke, bind his hands with duct tape. Hedtke then used the scissors in an effort to get him to confess to having an affair, according to the complaint.

Hedtke, 42, allegedly told police she didn't intend to cut her husband. He was treated at New London Family Medical Center.

Hedtke appeared Monday in Waupaca County Circuit Court, where Judge Raymond Huber released her on a $5,000 signature bond.

The substantial battery charge carries maximum three and a-half years in prison upon conviction.

In all seriousness, this is a horrible crime, but this women was as sick as her boyfriend. Why women stay with men like this is a mystery to me.

Was she a witch?

If she was, I'd have to think that leaving her would be a better idea than setting her on fire.

One thing I never understood. Why witches, with all of their mpowers, never can escape from their captors...especially from getting burned at the stake.

That's easy. One can't afford to buy; the other isn't steady enough to pour without spilling...and nobody else will have either one of them.
