RNC Statement On MoveOn.org’s Offensive New Advertisement
Republican National Committee ^ | May 19, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Tracey Schmitt

“MoveOn.org’s vulgar depiction of a violent attack on the Capitol -- a building that symbolizes our democracy -- is beyond the pale of acceptable political discourse. Democrats know Senator Frist’s efforts are intended to restore Senate tradition by granting highly qualified judicial nominees the vote they deserve and have received for the past 214 years. It’s sad that the Democrats and their third party allies would choose to play on Americans’ fears instead of engaging in constructive political debate.”

- RNC Communications Director Brian Jones

Moveon.Org Has Long History Of Airing Inflammatory And Inappropriate Ads

FactCheck.Org: “MoveOn.Org Launched A False TV Ad In The Districts Of Several House Members, Claiming Through Images And Words That President Bush Plans To Cut Social Security Benefits Nearly In Half.” (FactCheck.Org, “MoveOn.Org Social Security Ad,” www.factcheck.org/article303.html, 2/1/05)

“[T]he Liberal Group Moveon.Org Produced A TV Ad Titled ‘Quagmire’ Asserting That Mr. Bush Lacks Plans To End The War. ‘George Bush Got Us Into This Quagmire,’ The Narrator Says As An American Soldier Sinks Deeper Into Quicksand, Rifle Overhead In A Posture That Suggests Surrender.” (Todd J. Gillman, “History Of A ‘Quagmire’” The Dallas Morning News, 9/27/04)

“MoveOn.Org … Is Responsible For The ‘Fire Cheney’ TV Ad That Shows The Statue Of Liberty With A Hood Over Its Head.” (Bill Holland, “Getting Out The Vote,” Billboard, 7/3/04)

If you go to moveon's website they want people to sign up for a 'flyering' campaign

Of course I would never do it, but someone could go there and sign up to flyer the biggest theaters in the land

Which could be sneaky and deceitful in the view of some, but no worse than the lies they're telling about Frist

I hope the Republicans know that Hillary Clinton is behind every thing that goes on. She is the one who has decided that none of Bush's judges will be nominated. She is constantly under minding every thing Bush does, and it is his own fault. He kept most of the Clinton people to work in his own government, and these people are unworthy of his trust.

Newsweek, Move On, and other vile liberals know that the Republicans are to afraid to do anything about their lies. They know that their high priestess Hillary will protect them, no matter how evil they are.

So sixteen people died because of Newsweek's lies? Hillary doesn't care. I'd like to know how many people in Arkansas gave their lives to hide Bill Clinton's evil. And how many more will die to make Hillary President in 08?

In fairness, MoveOn didn't exactly "do" (produce) the two Hitler ads, but it hosted them on its servers as eligible finalists to be voted on in a "bash Bush ad contest" ... and MoveOn resisted taking the ads OFF its servers for several days after bipartisan protests erupted and even the ADL voiced its outrage.

I saw the ad and think that it is hilarious. It shows just how irrational those who now control the Democrat Party have become. Only childish minds could be swayed by its incredibly silly message.

If this is an example of Democrat political savvy, I say "Bravo," "Encore," and "Bring it on."

Brit Hume always signs off his hour with a comedy skit from late night shows or something funny someone said. Today's comic relief was this ad, which had them all laughing. At first I was surprised, what with all the complaing about the ad, but I then realized that the best thing to do with democrats is laugh at them and their silly actions and rhetoric. They are really making fools of themselves.

"In fairness, MoveOn didn't exactly "do" (produce) the two Hitler ads,"

In all fairness, that would be no different than a drug dealer saying, "I didn't make the drugs, I just sell 'em."

There is total disregard for fairness, as well as truth and decency. We must remain vigilent in defending what is right and good for this country, which is to continue exposing MoveOn for what they really are: an anti-America, pro-communist propaganda machine.

These guys know that if we go nuclear it's all over but the funeral. Once the radical left judges get slowly thrown off the bench and resume ambulance chasing where they belong, we might get back a little democracy. The rats could not stand that. They want a bigger version of Cuba and they want it soon.

You are so right about the Childish Minds in this country. i.e. Democrats. They know they are loosing in the elections and are going to continue to loose, and instead of trying to be Americans, they are Democrats. So ignorant they are letting the Screweist, Most Juvenile, Silly and right down Ignorant person run the party,Ex-howard dean. Can anyone believe this person? He is only believable to kindergarteners, and God Help them, he will be gone before they are grown and can have any real effect on them. They will probably see him as a cartoon character.
These people are so void of any sanity it really is sad. I cannot say I am sorry, but aren't they sad??? Of course they cannot change until they get EDUCATED to what this country is all about. They know they cannot win in elections anymore, SO IN THEIR MINDS THEY HAVE TO HANG ONTO THE COURTS. They know what they have done in the past in loading the courts with LIBERALS and mindless robots and now they are about to loose (LEGALLY) their hold on that process. GOD BLESS BILL FRIST AND THE OTHER "REAL" REPUBLICANS, GO FOR IT !!!!! It is right and the time is right.

No not exactly. As Blofeld was the head of SPECTRE (he was the one with the white puddy cat), so George Soros is head of the Open Society.

George Soros is the real life embodiment of the reel type Blofeld.

Actually, I have to say that this new ad is the least offensive MoveOn opus I've seen. It's just so over the top, I can't get any dander up about it. As disgusting as the lies in it are, it's nothing compared to the "Bush was Awol" ads, the "Bush wants to make you work till 10pm" and the "Quagmire" ad when it comes to vicious lies. And the production values are first rate!

The best part is, at least 60% (probably more like 80%) of swing voters have their BS alarm go off anytime they see the words "MoveOn.org." These guys are toast.

Not to worry. I remember, must have been 1981 because RR was just into his first term as President, Mother Jones ran on its cover a picture of him holding a family at gunpoint, everyone gagged and tied up. The banner read "America held hostage". Big deal. RR was re-elected by the biggest landslide in recent history.

The reason they scream and make such a loud fuss is that they LOST, they will probably continue to LOSE, and they KNOW it.

SOROS FNDTN GIVEN $20M BY US GOVT (FR thread)

An outrage that Soros is operating with out tax dollars. Soros had to have Congressional help to get all this money. We demand to know who it was. Moreover, we need to demand that Congress make public anybody who meets with Congress to get federal money. We want details on who is meeting with Congress, the purpose of the meeting, and what they are going to use our taxes for. No more plotting behind our backs to suckup our tax dollars without our knowledge or consent. This must end.

We need to eliminate public/private partnerships. They are not only unconstitutional, but they water down the indvidual citizens rights, and as you have observed, they keep the citizen from knowing what is going on in their government because no one can possibly go to all the meetings that are held with these groups. Government must be forced back into a constitutional structure, that is local-municipal, county, state, then federal. The regional governments and council this and council that are to dilute the power of the sovereign citizen and give it over to private corporations and NGOs.

Soros' "Open Societies," my Aunt Tilly. This tax-sucker Soros is an enemy of the US, particularly of conservatives, and conservative values. We need to know exactly how he spent our tax dollars. The IRS is onto these non-profits. Soros is running a global scam, to fill his pockets with other people's money. First-class phony, con man, and fraudster.

What is even more scary than Soros filling his pockets is the revolving door he has created to keep the money running in circles. All monies he gleems from our taxes and business profits seem to go to these other causes; but when the 'causes' spend the monies on businesses the Soros players have interests in...the money stays in the pot. All monies that enter his spider webbing just get moved from the right hip pocket to the left hip pocket. They have endless funds to fight us back. And we struggle.

Money is fungilble and this creep knows how to finesse it.

Guy is scary---- a sly fox who's good at the con games he plays-----seems to think he's above the law. But he's made a huge mistake, plotting against Americans behind closed doors, tapping into our taxes, using them against us. He will not get away with it.

The outing or publication of the reality of $oreA$$'s anti American Groups getting our tax dollars to weaken America is only the beginning.

An outrage that Soros is operating with out tax dollars. Soros had to have Congressional help to get all this money.

Might be a lead here:

Lowell Ponte, "The ABC's of Media Bias"

Morton Halperin today is Senior Vice President of the left-wing Center for American Progress (CAP) and Director of the Open Society Policy Center established by eccentric billionaire international financier George Soros. . .In February 1993, President Bill Clinton’s administration announced the appointment of Morton Halperin to the new position of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Democracy and Peacekeeping. Halperin withdrew his name from consideration in January 1994, his nomination stalled by both Republican and Democrat U.S. Senators who refused to consent to so radical a nominee. . .After the U.S. Senate refused to confirm Halperin, President Clinton appointed the controversial left-wing activist to several positions that required no Senate confirmation: Special Assistant to the President, Senior Director for Democracy at the National Security Council and consultant to the Secretary of Defense and to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. In 1998, Halperin became director of policy planning for the U.S. State Department. During his tenure 15 State Department laptop computers containing highly classified intelligence information disappeared. . .Morton Halperin in February 2002 became Director of the Open Society Policy Center and has worked closely ever since with its creator, eccentric billionaire international financier George Soros, who committed tens of millions of dollars in 2004 to a variety of efforts to defeat President Bush. One of these Soros-funded political efforts is the Center for American Progress (CAP), launched in summer 2003, one of the “Seven Sisters” pillars of the left’s “Shadow Government.” CAP is also known as “the official Hillary Clinton think tank,” described by Horowitz and Poe as “a platform designed to highlight Hillary’s policies and to enhance her prestige as a potential presidential candidate." According to a March 1, 2004 report by Robert Dreyfuss in The Nation, Halperin and Soros handpicked the President of CAP, former Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta. . .
