Park warned the Sumatra-Andaman earthquake would continue to affect the region for many years and could trigger more large quakes. I suspect this will affect many vacation plans. Cruise to Alaska may suddenly look better.:-)

IIRC, because of the way the scale works..a 9.15 is twice as big as a 9..or something like that..

The Earth is still ringing like a bell today," nearly six months after the Sumatra-Andaman earthquake Yes, the Earth is changing today, as it did yesterday, and as it will do so again tomorrow. Man-created changes are minuscule compared to the changes that occur naturally. That's why liberals wanting to destroy economies for the sake of global warming is such nonsense.

According to the study, researchers now believe the quake had a magnitude of 9.15. Initial measurements put the quake at 9.0 on the Richter scale, making it the fourth-largest quake since 1900. Richter scale or moment magnitude?
