David Heppler of Arizona Border Watch

Luis Crespo

They work on the U.S border in Arizona, as part of a volunteer army called the Minutemen. Soon, the brigade will be in Tennessee with a mission of catching companies that hire illegal immigrants.

"If people are hiring them, they're usually paid under the table. They're not getting any workmen's comp," said David Heppler of Arizona Border Watch.

Those behind the effort say volunteers will patrol local businesses, looking for employers that are hiring people who've illegally crossed the border.

The US Boarder Patrol says they've never endorsed the activities of the Minutemen in Arizona, stressing that it's the Border Patrol's job to catch illegal immigrants.

Some in East Tennessee say these kinds of tactics amount to begging for trouble.

"I worry they'll come up here and start some kind of chaos," says Hispanic activist Luis Crespo.

Crespo fears minority groups will become unfair targets, regardless if they're American citizens.

"Morristown, Hamblen County is blessed because we have people from all over the country, the industries come from around the globe," said Crespo.

"This is not an Hispanic issue. This is an issue of undocumented workers from any country. Not just Mexico. The problem with the public is that they think United States/Mexico," said Heppler.

Despite the objections, the Minutemen are moving forward. They hope to have as many as 600 volunteers in just two months.

I have a feeling this is going to catch on in other states.
Somehow, I don't think our legal system is prepared to handle the result. Better start thinking ahead and hiring more people to process those caught.

Start with the golf courses, lawn services and construction.

At Bally's (my gym) the cleaing staff is all Mexican now(not an issue) but since they don't speak a word of English, presumably illegal.

How does one make a living being a "Hispanic activist." I'll bet you he is either a slimy lawyer or someone else suckling off the government teat. Or, is such a statement redundant?

I don't know anyone who supports illegal immigration around here. I have some liberal relatives who want liberal laws but even they want them to come here legally.

Gonna need more than border patrol agents.
This will result in thousands of additional hearings and all the work that goes along with that. If it clogs up "the system", there will be an outcry to put an end to it.

The US Boarder Patrol says they've never endorsed the activities of the Minutemen in Arizona, stressing that it's the Border Patrol's job to catch illegal immigrants.

"As this was going down, more than a dozen U.S. Border agents have said they were told by their superiors that arrests of illegal aliens along the 23-mile section of border that had been patrolled by the Arizona Minutemen were “not to go up.”

The reason: An increase in apprehensions would prove the Minutemen’s effectiveness and justify their charges of lax border security.

"One agent quoted Border Patrol supervisors at the Naco, Ariz., office as saying that supervisors were “clear in their intention” to keep new arrests to an “absolute minimum” and that patrols along the border have been severely limited. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., reported that “credible sources” with the Border Patrol had told him the agents’ testimony was accurate."

If you have a company that you suspect is hiring illegals, video tape them as they leave work. This will fluster most of them enough where they don't want to chance showing up the next day.

It will take a concerted effort so don't plan on doing this sort of thing alone.

There's a day labor shop in Morristown that's run by a Mexican and has Mexicans hanging around waiting for work. While a lot of these guys are probably legal there's probably a lot more who aren't.

That place as well as the farms and factories in the area that hire through temporary services are likely to be where most illegals will be found.

We will take our country back and through peaceful, legal means. There is hope. It takes groups like the Minutemen to get the job done.

Make sure they check all the restaurant kitchens and hotel maid services as well. Wish they would come to Nashville. I am not working because of illegal Mexicans.

Yeah, full time work for lawyers...

I voted for W, the first time, hoping that he would be a conservative. He produced the largest budget in history.

9/11

I voted for him the second time, and held my nose. He continues to give a way the farm, with free drugs for seniors, and inviting Bother Fox into the henhouse (oops, I meant White House) to plot how to get more Mexicans onto our social Security rolls. He refuses to protect our borders, and calls our MinuteMen brethren vigilantes... Other than making the LEO's happy, with rights suspensions (allowing them, so far to catch some prostitutes, and white-collar types, but no invaders, nor terrorists- for the chil'run), and the ever-effective WOD, I can't think of much praise for him these days.

I have no idea who to vote for next time...

Most of them are just FOB's, or Rino's!

What will you do when the peaceful means do not work?

Are you armed and prepared to forcefully expel the peaceful invaders of our country, who have no inkling of our Constitution or what our founding fathers intended this country to be?

The incident in Baldwin Park, CA where an older lady was knocked unconcious by a bottle of water thrown by a Mex counter-protester is a sign of the coming violence these illegal subversives are capable of.

Peaceful is OK if the people you are dealing with are also peaceful. However the majority of the illegals have not been educated in the art of peacefulness, nor in anything else much. Their concern is only themselves and their multiple offspring. They have no loyalty to any nation, much less the USA, and only want to milk the cash cow for every freebie they can get.

My suggestion to everyone is to arm yourselves, secure concealed weapons permits if you can, and prepare yourselves for the worst, because peaceful means are not going to work.

Not much point in catching them if they're just going to be turned loose back on the public. They need to be thrown out! What the h*ll is the matter with people??!

"Better start thinking ahead and hiring more people to process those caught."

That's not how they think. They'll be thinking "better hurry up and find a way of legitimizing 12 million or more illegals before we actually have to respond to the riff raff (American people)."
