Guns Are Kosher! American Jews Fight For Our Right To Bear Arms - (fascinating website!)
ALL NERDS AND GEEKS.COM ^ | MAY 22, 2005 | PAUL HARVEY

Posted on 05/21/2005 9:43:41 PM PDT by CHARLITE

The JPFO, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, is fighting to protect our Second Amendment Right To Bear Arms under the US Constitution.

While it is true that most American Jews tend to be Liberal Deomcrats, when it comes to the issue of gun control verses the right to bear arms, American Jews part company with the left, and side with the conservatives, and with good reason I might add.

I for one, use to favor strict gun control, but after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on 911, I have had second thoughts. I believe that if the airline pilots had been armed, they could have stopped the Muslim Terrorists from high jacking the planes, and flying them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. And so, I have come to believe that every responsible adult should own at least one gun to protect the home.

The Jews remember what happened in Germany, when they had strict gun control laws. The result was millions of people unable to defend themselves, and being hauled off to the death camps.

The following is a commentary by Paul Harvey, concerning what has happend in other countries that have implemented strict gun control laws.

- - - - - - - - - - - -

Are you considering backing gun control laws? Do you think that because you may not own a gun, the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment don't matter?

CONSIDER THESE --

In 1929 the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others, who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

That places total victims who lost their lives because of gun control at approximately 56 million in the last century. Since we should learn from the mistakes of history, the next time someone talks in favor of gun control, find out which group of citizens they wish to have exterminated.

Gun owners in Australia were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed, a program costing the government more than $500 million dollars. The results Australia-wide: homicides are up 3.2%, assaults are up 8%, armed robberies are up 44%. In that country's state of Victoria, homicides with firearms are up 300%. Over the previous 25 years, figures show a steady decrease in armed robberies and Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain how no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such monumental effort and expense was successfully expended in "ridding society of guns."

It's time to state it plainly; guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws only affect the law-abiding citizens.

Take action before it's too late, write or call your delegation.

Paul Harvey ....

Firearm registration and confiscation is being implemented on the international level. Through UN auspices, States are pushing the UN agenda of total disarmament. This was sold as, "for the children." In NY back in 2001, the UN had a conference on small arms. You'd think it was about small armies. To the UN, Americans owning guns are an army. Can't have that...

"In October, Brazilians will decide in a national referendum whether the commercial sale of guns should be entirely banned in the country.

Churches hoped to net about 100,000 guns until the end of the campaign, the Agencia Brasil said. The government has already recovered more than 300,000 firearms with a buyback program that was instituted when the campaign started."

"Germany established gun control in 1938 "

Germany establised gun control in 1928.

The 1928 "Law on Firearms and Ammunition " required gun and ammunition licensing and registration.

This 1928 law is shown in side-by-side German and English in a publication sold by the reference web site ---www.jpfo.org.

The publication is "Gun Control" -Gateway to Tyranny, by Jay Simken and Aaron Zelman, 1993.

In many parts of the world, a Jew without a gun will quickly become a dead Jew. Still.

Jews cannot elect dem politicians and expect to preserve their RKBA. The only way to keep the 2A (or restore it) is to vote out dems and install a court that understands the constitution.

Very informative website. Gets a bookmark!

During the Holocaust, Jews bravely fought the Nazi enemy - when armed.

Actually, this line is terribly untrue. The vast (and I do mean VAST) majority of American Jews are hopolophobes. They don't like, and in many cases hate guns and the people who have and use them. They see military and police as protectors, who are forced to use guns as part of their job, but as for citizens with guns, I'm not sure if they hate or fear them more.

I've been told that I'm not welcome in the home of one of my cousins because I own guns - In fact, when she found out I was a gun owner, her response was (incredulously), "You own a gun?!?!?!?!" My response was, "No, I don't own a gun. I own 17 guns!"

Believe me, the vast majority of Jews in the US are NOT gun rights supporters. It seems that those who are happen the be the politically conservative Jews.

One would think that they would learn from the horrific example of the last century. Some people, I suppose, are too stupid to learn from example and *want* to repeat the mistakes that resulted in the near-extermination of a race.

I won't believe this til I see some documentation (the bit about parting company with the left on gun control).

Most of the Jews I know toe the liberal RAT line on the 2A. This is even true for the relatively small number of open Republicans.

I do not know what Jews believe any more.

I own a gun and a gun permit.(which btw the permit is a good thing to have if you plan to use a gun)There are just seven states I can carry my gun.And none of the blue states is on the list.

The one thing I can tell anyone is to make sure you learn to shoot the gun.And by all means keep them out of the reach of children.. My brother taught me to shoot a gun and hit my target when I was twelve years old.I practiced every summer when I went to his ranch..And i have never killed anything or anyone. My shooting score was 245 or near that and my written score was 92..So don't mess with Texas.

I couldn't agree more with your sentiments. It is truly disheartening to see how detached from reality, how ignorant of history and human nature, your own relatives can be. I personally love to shock them by telling them that I carry a .45 to Saturday services, the movies, the mall, the restaurants, etc., and that I'll never move back to the Peoples Republic of New Jersey because of the authoritarian gun laws there.

That being said, I do know a bunch of fellow MOTs that have many, many guns. A good friend of mine in NH has more than 25, and many of my friends carry to shul (including our Brooklyn-born rabbi, with whom I've gone shooting).

I also like what you had to say about the number of guns that you own. When I get asked if I own a gun, I always respond, "A gun? Nope, wouldn't be caught dead with a gun." Inevitably, they will say, "So, how many do you have?" Then I sit there for about 10 seconds counting on my fingers (all the while enjoying the Hell out of the look of horror on their face) before I say "only 13 now, but I'm planning on getting more. How many do you have?" I always get the bug-eyes in return, as if I had 13 pairs of hands and eyes, and 13 brains to coordinate all of them, so that I could simultaneously shoot 13 school kids or some such hoplophobic crapola.

Keep buying, keep shooting and (if you don't already) take other Jews shooting to get them interested. Armed Jews are the only sure antidote for lethal anti-Semitism.

Hey, if someone tries that I'll be taking their guns away - I don't intend to have cold, dead fingers from which they'll pry anything. They should bring lots of body bags.

Actually, a very dear uncle who hated guns hit me every time I saw him with "Sell your guns... Why do you need so many? Sell them all, and keep one." My response was to ask how many hammers and screwdrivers he had? I told him that I thought that he had far too many tools, that he should get rid of them all, except maybe one. Of course, he never could understand that the two situations were identical. I look at guns as tools (very fun tools, at that), but each one that I own is for a very different purpose. For instance, I purchased a Star Firestar .40 (I wish I would have waited for the .45) for when MO finally passed CCW. However, I would never use that for bullsey shooting... On the other hand, I've got my trusty Ruger Mk II Government model for smallbore target shooting, as well as all around plinking, a .45acp "race gun" with a 1 1/2 puund trigger that I used to use in USPSA/IPSC competition, a S&W Model 629 "Grand Master" by Ron Power that's great, if not a lot of overkill for pin shooting and action shooting, and a 625-5 in .45acp with a Power action job for defense (I'm big enough to carry an 'N' frame revolver under a jacket). Then there's my Taurus 9mm and what's my favorite revolver, a S&W Model 57 in .41 Mag. There are more, but I tried to explain that each gun was for a different purpose, just like his tools, but it never registered with him.

One of my uncles told me that he tossed his .45 over the side of the troop ship on the way home from WW2. I love the guy because he's my uncle (by marriage, I might add), but what a schmuck!

I have 2 uncles related by blood. One is somewhat pro-gun, but he lives in Commiefornia and I don't see much of him. The other is probably my favorite, and he's very much into guns. He was on his high school rifle team back in the mid-60's in New York City, and he carried his rifle to school over his shoulder and put it in his locker. Surprisingly, neither he nor his fellow teammates ever shot anyone at school...despite getting into a several fights over time - these were settled with fists, not knives or guns. He and I have enjoyed shooting together quite a bit, though he's now about 2,000 miles away. Too bad that all of my uncles aren't like him.
