HDR, may I suggest that you repost this with the e-mail addresses of the sender and recipients deleted (also add some spacing, for our eyes!), and then ask Admin Moderator to delete the current post? Hit "report abuse" on the post, and say you'd like it removed because you've fixed it up.

I'm concerned about having these men's information out on the public forum, with it not having been approved by them.

The "following" has two parts, and is somewhat extracted from an EMail I sent today to two public figures and others on my local "list":

1. A little more about the Monroe E-J.
2. On the suggestion that we need an external investigative news source, I've introduced Rhino Times' Larry Gavreau to Union Co. Commissioner Stony Rushing.

Please indulge me for one more point on the Monroe E-J as part of our local
problems, especially in its distribution of “journalistic sominex” to the few
folks that still read it.

Click the link, http://www.enquirerjournal.com/articles/2005/02/23/news/news05.prt . The title of the article is “Documents reveal Police Department spinning
out of control.”

In paragraph five, it speaks of Spell in “reorganizing” the Monroe Police Dept.
Part of the “reorganization” was the elimination of the rank of captain. The
article says that Patrol Captain Rodney Pierce was “busted” down to lieutenant.

The article ORIGINALLY published by the E-J (a few months prior) said that
Pierce accepted a demotion in rank to Sgt. while maintaining his Captain pay.

The ORIGINAL is more accurate – Why does the E-J continually try to pawn-off
this and similar changes (facts) as if NO ONE is looking?

MR. GAVREAU: Please have a good look at our neck of the woods as fertile ground
for making examples and initiating permanent changes in municipal government
throughout the state.

Also, Mr. Gavreau, I would like to introduce you to a man of great integrity,
Union County Commissioner, Stony Rushing. Stony, please meet Mr. Larry Gavreau,
publisher of the Charlotte Rhino Times and Char-Meck. School Board member. The
two of you COULD have much to discuss.

Yep -- I'm a REAL boy.

One of the signs of a true democracy is openness, etc.

We should have no fear when we redress our grievances in the arena of public opinion, the fourth branch of "we the people." Hubert

But then, maybe its better without, as follows (with thanks for the thoughts):

I also posted the following EMail today.

Nick P. (UCYR) -- See what you can learn/see in this about the E-J. Note the comments about the OUTSIDE attorney's involvement in the City Manager "gravy train wreck" and the "scoop" on Mayor Judy Davis: (My .pdf documents attached to this EMail are available upon request to anyone's EMail address.)

Mr. Gavreau:

The following was sent to my "list." As you have time please first
read the links identified in the next paragraph (and repeated in the related,
forwarded EMail to follow THIS one).

I've said often that it is unfortunate that a city the size of Monroe has no
"watchdog." With the recent news of the Monroe City Manager's
retirement/firing/hushing, @ http://www.enquirerjournal.com/articles/2005/05/19/news/news01.txt and other public sites, it should be obvious that big problems
exist here in "crazy city." Though such is also the case in big
cities, like Charlotte, addressing the "norm" with such would be SO
much easier to mitigate/"prosecute" in a place like Monroe and Union
Co.

Examples need to be made and CAN be made here in "Crazy County USA. . .
." Paraphrasing what the local fact-management rag, the Monroe E-J, said
recently about our County Commissioner, Stony Rushing, we just need SOME kind of
champion from the outside.

If you have opportunity, get a Monroe E-J from last Friday and also read the
gratuitous "editorial" about this local scam. According to the
Charlotte O, the (in all likelihood unconstitutional) "arrangement"
was made by an OUTSIDE attorney. (Inquiring minds want to know -- What does
OUTSIDE mean, that the attorney was outside the doors of city hall, or that the
city council took-up a private collection to fund the attorney's fees, or that
the attorney did the "emergency" arrangement pro bono, thus saving the
tax-payers of Monroe $1,000s additional?) The E-J missed this?

Well, as far as the E-J goes, it should also be known that the E-J has for
months turned its head while our mayor reestablished residence in Florida! We
need a watchdog. All politics is local. HERE is a good place to engineer a
change -- The politicians and power brokers here are too stupid to cover their
tracks well.

Thank you for your continued interest.

____________
Please note: forwarded message attached

Greetings -- Good gosh I hope someone of consequence is paying some attention. .
. .

The attached two .pdf documents from May, 2001 give an introduction into our
efforts to mitigate the scam into which we were drawn through proper law
enforcement channels. None of the three entities identified in the subject line
EVER advised us of their findings in relation to our position. None of the
three entities EVER attempted to review our materials.

At the time, we were not aware of our attorney, Bobby Griffin's involvement with
the scam. At the time, I had not gone to real estate school and learned more
about what happened to us, how the property we "leased" was being
taxed by the county, or about Bobby Griffin's dual representation of us and the
landlords (without our knowledge).

There are additional materials, of course, including discussions/correspondences
a couple of years or so later than these with TWO Monroe Police Officers
(including the one identified in the attached).

SPECIAL NOTE -- EACH OF THE THREE LAW ENFORCEMENT INDIVIDUALS IDENTIFIED IN THE
ATTACHED HAVE RECEIVED PROMOTIONS, ETC., SINCE WE BROUGHT THIS MATTER TO THEIR
ATTENTION. WE HOLD THAT THE TIMING OF THE PROMOTIONS AND OUR
"CONTACT" WITH THESE PARTIES IS NOT COINCIDENTAL. REGARDLESS OF
WHATEVER ELSE THESE THREE MEN HAVE DONE IN THEIR CAREERS, THIS IS IN FACT THEIR
TRUE PROFESSIONAL HIGH WATER MARK. WE SHOULD ALL FEEL VERY SAFE BECAUSE OF THE
DUE DILIGENCE CARE FOR PEOPLE LIKE SANDRA AND MYSELF GIVEN BY THE MONROE POLICE,
THE UNION COUNTY SHERIFF, AND THE NC SBI.

WE GET SCREWED, AND SCREWED, AND SCREWED, AND THREATENED WITH MORE SCREWING, AND
THESE "PROTECTORS" GET PROMOTIONS WHILE BURYING THE OFFICIAL REPORTS
OF CRIMES THAT WE MADE -- AMERICAN JUSTICE AT ITS FINEST!

Yet, Mary Jane McClure and the current Union Co. Sheriff, Eddie Cathey, are
working together to end fraud at Union Co. DSS? Yet, Eddie Cathey has the
official (again, obviously not moral) right to enter our property and take our
stuff to cover debt we obtained to run the "business" we bought from
Mary Jane McClure, DSS Fraud Investigator.

As Tai Aguirre says on his website, www.scamsandscandals.com, "You could be
next!"

Yours, Hubert

You're right that openness is important. Also, anyone that wanted to firebomb you for your opinions could probably find your address in the Monroe phone book. But it's always best to use a little more caution on the Internet than you would, say, writing to the newspaper.

Thank you again. If you DIDN'T notice, I DIDN'T put my address on the repost.

Fire-bombing ME for my opinions? Thus far, i've little indication that little more than a handful of folks care about ANYTHING that my wife or I have to say, though we were borned and raised here.

ANY "appropriate" attention given us by anyone of consequence is likely anethema for some (at least). HDR
