Normally sane people are losing their minds over this "deal.". I wouldn't go so far to call them "sane". Many of these are the same people who went off the deep end over Terri Schiavo (already been brought up in several threads tonight because the "Republicans" sold her out to be murdered according to the posters) and go off the deep end any time the word immigration is mentioned.
They don't seem to get it that Frist can't hold a gun to their heads and make them vote a certain way. We know that McLame, Snow, Collins, Chaffee are always going to RINO us when they get the chance so that means the Senate is really 51-49. All it takes are a couple of more idiots to totally screw up the works and as usual, a few rear their heads.

It's late and I'm still wrestling with this news. I need to sleep on it and hear Rush's take tomorrow. You may be right. This might not be that big of a deal afterall. I just hate for a handful of RINOS to have this sort of control over the Senate.

(Warning the GOP Senators: Nuke the filibuster!)
To: sinkspur
My guess is that this would have happened anyway ...all the Dems have to do is to give an up or down vote on each nominee and they delay the showdown and maintain their right to filibuster. all this does is rubberstamp waht they would have done anyway and all parties declare victory. The fight remains to be fought another day

I just hate for a handful of RINOS to have this sort of control over the Senate. On critical issues, they always have had such control. That's why we need to get to 60 Republicans.

I doubt anything will happen to Graham. Can you say Arlen Specter, of Scottish law?

You asked who Bob Inglis was in post #111. He was elected to Congress from the Fourth District, and served from 1993 to 1998. Because he endorsed term limits, he left Congress and returned to private life. He was re-elected to the House in 2004, and he is smart, honest, and a conservative. You can find out more about him at this website:

He lost favor with some moneyed Republicans when he didn't support the "16-mile Southern Connector in Greenville SC", which is a toll road. But guess what?!! He was correct! He is a man of principle, and will tell you the truth. I don't think you'd find him cozying up to John McCain!
