IL: U.S. migrants ask Mexico to help families
Bakersfield Californian ^ | 5/23/05 | AP

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexican migrants from the Chicago area asked the Mexican government Monday to help them reunite families separated by deportations, arguing that new U.S. immigration and terrorism laws are applied unfairly to hardworking people.

The group met with a representative of President Vicente Fox's administration and Mexico City Mayor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and asked both to send President Bush letters requesting pardons for some 60 people who have been deported recently, often separating husbands from wives and children from their parents.

The group said Lopez Obrador told them he would give them a letter. It wasn't immediately clear if the administration would also produce a letter.

The group of about a dozen deported migrants and activists said new U.S. immigration and anti-terrorism policies were being used to deport people seeking citizenship.

Romina Perea described being deported to Mexico more than two months ago - even though her husband and children were all U.S. citizens. She said she was forced to sneak into the United States more than five years ago after the U.S. government denied her a visa to be with her husband.

"They make you go to extremes," she said, accompanied by her two children, who came to live with her in Mexico. "There are thousands, thousands of families affected."

It must really suck when the country of your birth is governed by a bunch of corrupt politicos, narcoterrorists and ne'er do wells, and you're forced to rip your family apart to find gainful employment and some form of economic security, huh?

Who to blame.. hmmm? who to blame, indeed.

"U.S. immigration and terrorism laws are applied unfairly to hardworking people."

Since when did "hard working" become a virtue that cancels out criminality? Hard working pedophiles are ok? Hardworking rapists? Hardworking wife-beaters?

Besides, a disproportionate number of these "hard working" invaders are behind expensive American prison bars (or should be). And the guys who have to guard their sorry @ss#s are DAMN hard working.

It's amazing when people who are breaking the laws of our country think that we owe them something.

What's the Mexican word for hutzpah?

It's not just illegal immigration, it's changing the culture of reality into "multiculturalist" baloney and negating the rule of law into anything goes that we make up on the spot to "feel good" or pacify leftist, anti-American scum.

Here's my post in a previous thread:

Of course its not the criminals fault he broke the law. If the law was changed than his action would be legal and he wouldn't break the law.

Whether you call them illegal entrants or illegal aliens, doesn't matter. The key word is ILLEGAL.

These people are ILLEGAL because we have laws limiting how people can LEGALLY enter our country. Its not that people can't enter our country, or immigrate to our country. Its that we have specific ways for people to do this. Any other way is ILLEGAL. The people who come to this country LEGALLY are welcomed with open arms. Always have, and hopefully always will. The others, whether you like it or not are CRIMINALS.

There is an old saying:"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Time for these CRIMINALS to start to accept responsibility for their actions. And its time for the enablers to let the CRIMINALS be responsible for their own crimes. That even includes theirown deaths.

There was a time when CRIMINAL enablers were called aiding and abetting, which itself was at onetime considered CRIMINAL.

There are decent Mexican illegals. But that's it, they are still illegal. And we can't tell the hard working family man from the rapist because neither are on the record. So they both need to go back. And if the decent guy wants to come here for work, he needs to fill out the paperwork.

I don't know who is to blame ... if anyone. The majority of people going to the U.S. are out of work, and out of luck thanks to agricultural policies -- ours and theirs -- beyond the migrant's control.

My understanding is that this particular issue involved "family reunification" issues. And, like it or not, children born in the U.S. are U.S. citizens. And, like it or not, a parent's immigration status has nothing to do with whether they love their kids or not.

Try driving around as a Gringo in Mexico with no liability insurance.....
and have an accident...

Enter MEXICO illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international
law, or any of that nonsense.

Once there, demand that the local government provide "free" medical care for
you and your entire family.

Demand bilingual nurses, teachers and doctors.

Demand "free" bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc.

Enroll your children in the local schools, and insist that their subjects be
taught in English and then demand that their teachers either speak to them
in English, hire an Interpreter, and/or pay for an English Tutor to show
equal consideration is given.

Procreate abundantly. Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible
reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural United States thing. You would
not understand, pal."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or
proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

Speak only English at home and in "public" and insist that your children do
likewise.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system. Demand a
local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will
go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck! Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any
other country in the world... except right here in the United States... Land
of the naive!

.......And like it or not, entering our country ILLEGALLY is a crime, irrespective of your motives. Greyhound runs routes from Chicago to the Mexican border. Bye bye.

And, like it or not, children born in the U.S. are U.S. citizens.

Lots of American citizen kids are raised abroad. My daughter went to kindergarten in Australia for a year.

These children maybe citizens but at least one of their parents has no right to be in America. This leaves their parents with the decision to raise their child in the country where they do have a right to be. Or make arrangements for their child to be raised in America by relatives or others who do have a right to be here. In either case, the child will have the right to come and go across our borders as they chose. The parents don't have this right and because they disrespected our laws they should NEVER be given this right. Just because they had a kid on our soil does not make it the rest of our problem.

Fixed that for ya. If the mexican govt. can't create jobs beyond farming and drug running, they need to go.

We need some teeth put in the law for CRIMINAL INVADERS.
I suggest it be made a felony with 1 year in jail and a $10,000 dollar fine.
People who aid, abet and or hire these CRIMINAL INVADERS should be found guilty of a felony with 1 year in jail and a $10,000 fine for each one.

We need a president that will enforce the laws that are already on the books.

They Will Deport Themselves!

They Will Deport Themselves February 16th, 2002 | Sabertooth

They Will Deport Themselves

Every time an illegal alien sets foot in America he or she is a knowing burglar, breaking and entering across our borders, violating our laws. They are also squatters, attempting to colonize our land and our nation. Every moment of their presence in our country is an ongoing criminal act.

It is also illegal for a them to work here, so every cent these alien invaders take is done so illegally… as is ever dollar of unearned subsides they're able to defraud from American taxpayers.

Thus, all of the proceeds of the illegals' inhabitation of the United States are the ill-gotten gains of an ongoing criminal enterprise.

As such, they ought to be treated like the proceeds of any other criminal enterprise, from fraud to theft to drug dealing to racketeering…

The assets of illegal aliens should be subject to total forfeiture.

They are criminals, there is no moral reason why not. Therefore, a solution to much of our nation's problems with these international burglars resolves into focus…

Amnesty for illegal aliens was tried in 1986, with a bipartisan bill that was signed into law by President Reagan. 2.7 million illegals were able to get green cards in a onetime only program. That amnesty would only happen once was an integral part of the bargain the federal government struck with the American people, who have always opposed illegal immigration by large margins. The other part of the bargain was a promise of effective law enforcement against future illegals.

The craven betrayal of this promise to the American people is bipartisan. Presidents Reagan, Bush the Elder, and Clinton all ignored the problem of illegals, as did both parties in Congress with the lone exception of the Republicans in 1996. Key to this failure has been the unwillingness of the federal government to deport illegals, as the law provides, in large numbers from the interior of our country.

Without deportation, there will be no solution to illegal immigration.

Now that the cancer of illegals has metastasized to 12 million and growing, many of these same politicians suggest that the solution to their malfeasance of duty is some new form of amnesty… "Never mind the earlier deal with the American people, the problem is now too big for our laws to solve, we must Surrender."

Their condescending gall is like that of death row lawyers who run out of appeals, and then suggest that execution after 15 years is cruel and unusual punishment. Any unpleasantness resulting from the delay is entirely the onus of our elected officials to bear. The American people never wanted their laws not to be enforced.

Even the current White House of President George W. Bush is sending such signals with their periodic trial balloons about "normalizing undocumented workers" and "making their work legal."

This is as much as saying…

"Because we broke our promise to enforce the law against illegal aliens, we have no choice but to break our promise that amnesty would happen only once."

Bunk.

We are told incessantly by these same spineless, duplicitous politicians from both parties how the problem of illegal immigration is intractable… Much as many of those same cowards once described the problem of terrorism. Winning changes things, doesn't it?

It's time to fight and win the battle against the illegal invaders, all 12 million-plus of them. We don't need to round them all up; we simply enact the appropriate and fully Constitutional legislation, and serve the aliens notice:

"Be gone in 90 days. If you aren't, all of the proceeds of your criminal presence in the United States will be subject to total asset forfeiture."

This will be the disincentive to their ongoing invasion.

Some will leave, and some won't. After 90 days, we round up a few hundred thousand of them. That should be enough time to hire the manpower to process the invaders. Then we take all they own within our borders, recycle it into INS coffers, and send them swiftly back to their own countries, whether China, Mexico, Ireland, or wherever, with no profit for their illegal efforts.

The other 12 million illegals will take heed. Step aside, and watch the stampede.

It will only get easier… if only we start.

Your understanding is wrong. Children born to illegal aliens on U.S. soil are not U.S. citizens.

The 14th Amendment intended to exclude the children of transients and migrants and it does.

Agree 100%. Since we have approx 20,000,000 illegals here now, we are likely to have 1,000,000 or more "anchor babies" already. Time will increase that number even more, thus adding to the problem.
