 BOGOTA -- Bogota Mayor and GOP gubernatorial candidate Steve Lonegan was endorsed today by the Eagle Forum PAC, the political wing of the national conservative organization headed by veteran conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly.

     "Steve Lonegan is the sole candidate for Governor willing to speak out on important cultural and social issues like Illegal Immigration, Affirmative Action, Gun Control and Political Correctness. Steve is also the only proven candidate committed to reducing the size of State Government and fighting judicial activism in our courts, while ever remaining a fearless, indefatigable defender of life," says Carolee Adams, Eagle Forum State President.

     "As Mayor, Steve Lonegan froze spending at 1995 levels, cut debt and kept taxes below inflation. He brought the lawsuit against illegal state debt, led the fight against the Newark Arena and stopped McGreevey’s Fifteen Cent per gallon gasoline tax hike. No one speaks out louder for taxpayers and stronger for our conservative values. He is clearly the best choice for Governor."
