“If he’s got to Iran, there’s not much we can do,” said one.

Heh heh heh.

If Zarqawi's in Iran, that's reason #239 for getting jiggy with the mad, murderous mullahs.

Why can't the ROP can't produce any qualified doctors over there? Or decent hospitals? Why do they have to move him to a non-Arab country for surgery? Hmmm?

The Saudis sent of lot of their fat, fat kings and sheiks here to the Cleveland Clinic for heart surgery. We should offer Zark that opportunity to get his US military supplied splinter removed. And we won't even charge him for the surgery. A guest of the American people. Then when he's all better, we can throw his slimy 4$$ into solitary at Gitmo until his murder trial.

IRAQ’S most wanted terrorist has fled the country for emergency surgery after an American airstrike left him with shrapnel lodged in his chest, according to a senior insurgent commander in close contact with his group.

This is BULLSH*T of the highest order.

Shot in western Iraq, who really believes he is going to be carted all the way across Iraq to get back to Iran while severly injured avoiding all sorts of American and Iraqi patrols and air survielance?

He is either hunkering down in some farm house in Iraq spreading storries about his location, or he is in Syria (the most likely). Remote outside possibility is Turkey, but unlikely.

He's wounded. He's dead. He's in Syria. He's in Iran.

Okay. I have said for awhile now that he probably has a very safe haven in Iran from time to time, along with any number of other murderous thugs such as Osama and company.

Wouldn't stop me for 10 seconds if he could be positively found there.

Thanks for posts. But something doesn't seem to ring true here.
"His condition late last week was described as stable, but supporters were said to be preparing to move him to another non-Arab country for an operation to remove the shrapnel."

Why not treat him in Iran? They have fully equiped surgery units with lots of western educated doctors etc.. Besides,
is probably welcome in Iran due to his terrorist affiliations with groups out of Iran.
I think this is mis-information.

How do we know he's not hiding in your left pocket? :)

Ah, the news on the hour, ABC radio, said the Iraqi operation is to flush out ENEMY fighters in the streets of Baghdad.

Good choice of words by ABC, they still have a measure of respect for military power.

It's surprising to hear that ABC used that word, 'enemy'. Perhaps it was an editorial oversight?

They were probably referring to the US soldiers.

The sources here are extremely questionable - It is starting to look like this was all a rouse from the beginning. Most likely Zarqawi was never injured (or only injured very slightly) -

I think this is mis-information.

This is appearing more and more likely to be the case - Zarqawi was probably never wounded to begin with (or hurt only slightly....non-serious) - Yet, it turned into this larger rouse for any number of reasons.

al Zarqawi's in Iran, and so is Osama.

UBL is not in Iran and very doubtful Zarqawi is either (his organization has many more ties within Syria...if he did seek refuge from Iraq for a time being) - Though I am starting to suspect he wasn't wounded to begin with now -

It was loud and clear. I didn't catch the name of the newsreader, probably some retired Korean War era guy they had to hire for the weekend.

The rumor mill on Zarqawi is 24/7. One possibility, is that he's already dead, maybe for sometime now, so a continous flow of rumor's about him put out by his closer associates that know the truth keeps him 'alive' to keep up the morale of lower minions. More likely though is he is wounded and hiding out somewhere in Iraq still, but I'd bet most of the info we get is nothing but rumor and any facts that slip by are probably months old. Who the hell knows anymore, all I do know is I will believe my eyes to his status when his stinking rotten corpse makes Fox news.
