Ali al-Timimi, 41, who recently got a doctorate in computational biology at George Mason University, was convicted last week on ten federal counts of supporting and encouraging terrorist activities. He was convicted of urging his followers to join Afghanistan’s former Taliban regime and Lashkar-e-Taiba, a violent Pakistani radical group known for participating in the decade-long insurgency in Indian-controlled Kashmir and for attacking the Pakistani Shi’ite minority. That group may have been involved in the massacre latst week of Pakistani Shi'ites.

Although the charges on which al-Timimi was convicted carry a mandatory prison sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, Federal Judge Leonie Brinkema has not ruled out tossing out some of these charges. Al-Timimi was a frequent speaker at the Center for Islamic Information and Education, also known as Dar al-Arqam, in Falls Church, Va.. It came under federal scrutiny after 9-11. He had studied in Saudi Arabia. Al-Timimi had been active in George Mason's Moslem Students Association, where he had frequently denounced Christians and Jews and supported the use of violence.

He had evidently been an unnamed “co-conspirator” in the 2004 federal indictment of eleven of his former students. Nine of these were ultimately convicted or pleaded guilty to traveling to Pakistan where they trained with Lashkar-e-Taiba. The three who pleaded guilty rather than go to trial were among the prosecution’s key witnesses against al-Timimi, including Yong Ki Kwon, who is currently serving an 11-year federal prison sentence.

The next major 9/11 type event will be caused by "American" jihadists and then, whom ever is the President will be forced to consider WWII style internment camps. The "moderate" American muslim either cannot or will not assist our homeland security in the rooting out of these radical islamists. All of the imams that are currently preaching violence, on a daily basis, in the mosques around our Country, should be deported or imprisoned. Immediately.

When the event happens, there will be no stopping the non-muslim Americans from extracting revenge. Many innocent people will be caught up in a series of horrific events and a brutal fight against islamist terrorism, here in America, will begin. It will not be pretty but the citizens of the USA will not stand for another 9/11 without becoming actively involved.

I'm no longer sure how different it really is. You have a large number of enemy fighters and supporters that want to kill us in large enough numbers so as to destroy or will and our way of life.

We can kill enough of them (or support those that do the heavy lifting) to destry their plans and cause them to think nothing is worse than continued killing. Or, we can lose.

Since it's a fight to the death, I think winning is better. Also since the fight is taking place in every hemisphere, it sounds like a world war to me. I think we have fought one or two of those in the past.

I knew most of this a long time ago, but Sperry puts it in context and provides lots of photos on his web site.

I'd always suspected the 9/11 hijackers crashed at some collaborator's apartment in Skyline, since they were doing their phoney ID business at both Dar al Hijra and Culmore. Sperry confirms (without much detail) that this probably was the case.

It was probably conducted in one of the campus buildings during a time slot for which some Bible or Torah Study was evicted due to "Constitutional conflicts."

I see civil war and some Americans taking matters into their own hands far more than I can see our government doing anything practical or effective. That was a good one however. ;)

This is more proof that demolishes the liberal claim that the root cause of terrorism is poverty.A large number of the terrorist captured or killed have come from the middle class or higher and some are even doctors.The only thing all these terrorist have in common is they all practice the same corrupt religion of peace.
