Why don't you work as hard on securing the God given right to control over property one owns as you do the right to stick stuff in your body???If one doesn't own one's body, one owns nothing.

today's society arrangements have made it danged difficult to keep one's kids away from this gateway drug until they can make an adult decisionThe same sort of analysis that classifies marijuana as a gateway drug also classifies alcohol and tobacco as gateway drugs, but that's not sufficient reason to ban those drugs for adults ... is it?

Why is it that everything involving drugs gets a libertarian ping? Why is it that the libertarian party used it's 2004 convention speech to talk about marijuana? Libertararians are big on the constitution. The federal War on Drugs is a blatently unconstitutional disaster.
It's time for the libertarians to be honest and call themselves the "drug legalization party."
Please do not confuse small-l libertarians (such as myself and most self-described libertarian freepers) with large-L Libertarians, who are members of the Libertarian Party. I have some serious issues with the LP platform, and do not like being confused as a member of theirs.
That said, a strictly libertarian position would not be to legalize drugs, but to allow each state to set their own policies on illicit substances. A nationwide legalization of drugs would be just as unconstitutional as the current WOD.

It's not a perfect world...That's the point. If you trully want your kids safe follow Hollands example. Once pot was legalized not only did drug use among kids drop, but crime went down. Pot smokers no longer had to deal with the danger of the criminal underground. Drug laws don't work. They increase crime and endanger your children.
Conservative Republicans opposed marijuana prohibition in 1937. They were obviously much smarter than the conservatives of today!

Personally I wouldn't mind the issue being left up to the states as well.Unfortunately, there are several leftists who have taken a fancy to calling themselves "libertarian", because they think it sounds cool. Bill Maher is a good example of this. As a result, I personally feel that the best way to advance truly libertarian causes is from within the GOP, which is why I support the Republican Liberty Caucus.

That's right. I'm a conservative, NOT a liberTARDian or a LIbEal. You're more a Big Government Totalitarian, I do believe, sanctioning any government intrusion as long as you agree with it.

The problem with this is that the people who control the Republicrat Party have no interest in more liberty and less government, as they've demonstrated time and time again since at least 1994 and as recently as last week.
But they're happy to take your money, support and votes to keep things as they are.
