God bless you, Pfc. Christopher E. Hudson. May you rest in a warrior's peace. You are home. You have fought the fight, finished the course. Well done.

The Mansions of the Lord
Click the picture for music

To fallen soldiers let us sing

Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing

Our broken brothers let us bring

To the Mansions of the Lord

No more bleeding, no more fight

No prayers pleading through the night

Just divine embrace, eternal light

To the Mansions of the Lord.

Where no mothers cry and no children weep

We will stand and guard though the angels sleep

Through the ages safely keep

The Mansions of the Lord.

Thank you Pfc. Hudson, for giving the last full measure of your devotion to this great nation. May your family and friends take comfort in the knowledge that you accomplished more in your young life than many of us do in eighty years.

God Bless the family and friends of...

Army Pfc. Christopher E. Hudson

21, of Carmel, Ind.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 12th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; died March 21 when his military vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device in Baghdad.

Christopher E. Hudson's mom noticed something special about her child when he was in the second grade. As he flipped through a book, Sally Hudson thought he was only looking at pictures. But when she asked him questions, she said, she realized he had taught himself how to speed-read. Pfc. Christopher Hudson, 21, died March 21 after his Humvee drove over a bomb outside Baghdad. He was based at Fort Hood, Texas. He attended high school in Carmel, Ind., but left because the curriculum wasn't challenging, his mother said. He earned a GED certificate instead. Before his death, Hudson had survived two other attacks on his Humvee and a confrontation at a checkpoint with a man who threatened to kill him with a machine gun, Sally Hudson said. Her son reacted quickly and shot him. "He didn't tell me that was the only person he had to kill," she said. "But he left here a boy, and I didn't hear that in his voice. All the boy was gone. It was just soldier and man." He also is survived by his wife, Michelle, and their two young children.

Christopher's Dad, Mr. Hudson, told me that his son had a photographic memory from the time he was a small child and that he developed the skill of a speed reader at a very young age. It seems Christopher was very touched by the faces of the young Iraqi children he came into contact with and felt that his mission was good and right, when he looked into their faces.

Heaven has a new angel and he watches over the little children. Rest in peace dear Christopher.

I am honored to have met the parents of Pfc. Christopher Hudson. They are good people and great Americans.

May God watch over them always.

Wow! What can you say? The loss is tremendous! Words aren't enough to honor the sacrifice and tears can not bring him back.

God has another angel to help watch over this soldiers family.
God bless you and thank you for your sacrifice.

Thank you for the great sacrifice that Private Hudson and his family gave to secure the liberties that so many of us take for granted. He was a liberator to the Iraqi people and a watchman on the wall for the United States. May God bless his family and fill up the emptiness of their vessels with comfort and kindness.

Since I am a bit of a "hobbit-head", and I know that Tolkien understood the nature of war, I submit a quote from "Lord Of The Rings: Return of The King"

[Theodin, King of Rohan] upon his dying:

"My body is broken. You have to let me go...I go to my fathers, in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed."

With Respect and appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice,

I think the saddest day That someone ever told When someone tells a mother That her blue star turned to gold.

Her head goes up so proudly While her heart within her dies She may be choked with sorrow But she never cries.

She has waited for days on end For the war to pass When she could see her son again And hold him close at last.

Now, the news has come In words so bleak and cold Which tells her what she fears; Her blue star has turned to gold.

~Elbert Cooper~

My deepest sympathies to his family. God Bless them and rest well soldier.

Well, what can be said here by me to ease your suffering? Nothing, at least by me, since I have no similar extreme experience to demonstrate my empathy.

But I do empathize in a way. You are experiencing "every parent's nightmare" and I can certainly appreciate the loss of a son when I contemplate the loss of my own. It is something no one wants to think about, and when it happens, we search for words to lend compassion to the bereaved.

In many ways, mere words from a Conservative website cannot paint an accurate picture of how much we also suffer your loss, along with you.

I have no doubt that it will get better for you, with time. Until then, please accept my profound thanks for your son and the fact that he was willing to give the last full measure of devotion which Abraham Lincoln spoke of in his address at Gettyburg, Pennsylvania.

America loves you, loves your son, and is with you in this time of personal loss.

To the Hudson Family,

Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss. I have two nephews just out of boot camp (MCRD - San Diego) awaiting further training and orders. Either one - both good students - could be in college without a care. They've chosen a different path.

Why? I cannot say but I suspect that these men are our earthbound guardian angels striving to make our world a better place.

May the Lord take your son and keep him by his side. I wish my words could say more, could ease your pain but I know they cannot. Thank you for his service and your sacrifice.

G-d Bless you and keep you.
