"Isn't that the Bethabera land?"
Bethabara... House of Passage in Hebrew. That was the "Old Dutch Fort" referenced in so many histories. First town was Bethania, 1759. Salem came in 1766.
That guy that used to be a Saddened "D" Senator - 'til he was kicked out..
I doubt that either Jesse or Al will be demanding money from this bank any time soon. Unless they are also willing to admit that the party they belong to is guilty of 200 + year's of racism and crimes against African Americans. As is outlined in the court case brought against the National Democratic Party in Dec. 2004 before the United States District Court Western District Of Washington by Wayne Perryman on behalf of himself and all African American Citizens of the United States.
Here is a link to the case:

It's a very interesting read that lays out many of the crimes against both African American citizens and the Republican's who tried to fight for the God given rights of those African American Citizens.
I used to live two blocks from there at Springhouse Apts
Sorry, my memory for obscure South Dakotan has-beens isn't what it once was. Hey, I apologized again!
"I used to live two blocks from there at Springhouse Apts"
It's pretty down in there. I've got a seventh great grandfather buried in the Dobbs Parish Strangers Cemetery, within the bounds of the park.
BULL! Just cause my wife's side of family came from Ol' Virginny with some slaves in tow doesn't mean my kids anyone anything!
Thanks for asking. Upholstery is refinishing stuffed furniture with padding and covering and the ones wetting themselves are the overpaid suits who should known better.
Call me crazy
I'll refrain. But may I suggest that a switch to decafe might take the edge off?
I hope that was friendly enough and not taken as a jerk.
Ditto. FRiends?
My ancestor, a slave owner, provided the gold that tops the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta. If this gold isn't good enough for the folks in Atlanta, Georgia and the South, I'll be glad to take it back!
Well, I was stating that based on those individuals' knack for sniffing the money trail and then trying to find an opening. Thanks for the link. I'll read it later!
""We know that we cannot change the past, and we can't make up for the wrongs of slavery"
I'm tired of having to bend over because my ancestors owned slaves 100+ years ago.
Holy stupidity Batman.
Did your ancestors wear cotton grown by slaves? Better apologize now!
P.S. No coffee, just too much liberal news in my day. Maybe I should back it off to just two in the morning and listen to sports or music the rest of the day. Not a bad idea.
Law suits to follow....
I am against any reparations settlement. If I have to pay for slavery, then I want slaves.
My family came to this country in 1918-1919. To the best of my knowledge, only two remain alive to this day (94 year-old grandmother and 90 year-old female cousin). They escaped Communist Russia (home of the slave labor camps, the gulag).
My family never owned slaves. If we pay, we want to have slaves first. If the reparation activists don't like my stance, then leave the country and return to your ancestoral homeland. The poorest of the poor here are better off than the "rich" of most of the world, IMHO.
I hear the serfing is excellent down in Africa.
They should remember," That was then and This is now." Typical fools looking to racially extort money from a big bank. NSNR
Everybody else;Sit back, and have a Coke and a smile
You didin't do anytrhing wrong!!!!!
