Weldon berates the CIA for disregarding Ali and his information, including a May 2003 tip that Iran planned to fly a hijacked Canadian airplane into a U.S. nuclear reactor identified only as "Sea." Weldon said the plant was the Seabrook, N.H., nuclear facility outside Boston, where an attack could kill hundreds of thousands of people."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "LOS ANGELES (CNS) — With area mass transit systems on heightened terrorist alert following the London subway bombings, authorities took no chances when a suspicious object was found at a Metro Red Line station in Hollywood. The object, a cooler with wires sticking out of it, was found by a sheriff's deputy on patrol about 1:20 p.m. at the Metro Red Line station at Vermont Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. John Baylis.

"It was a small, Igloo type personal container with wires sticking out of it, colored wires, numerous wires," Baylis said. "They were consistent with the type used in blasting fuses."

Sheriff's deputies, firefighters and a bomb squad were called, and both the Vermont-Sunset and Vermont-Santa Monica subway stations were evacuated and nearby streets closed.

"We had about 120 to 150 people down there at the time because a train had just come in," Bill Heard of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said. "We got everybody up to the surface in good order."

After the cooler was spotted by a deputy, it took well over an hour for the bomb squad to arrive at the subway station, Baylis said.

He said the bomb squad came from Whittier and was held up by traffic. Once the specialists were on scene, it took about 20 minutes for them to X- ray the cooler and determine it was empty, he said."

This is another tip off...to suggest al-Qaida is paying former Russian special forces Spetznaz to assist the terrorist group in locating nuclear weapons formerly concealed inside the U.S. by the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

The word "Spetsnaz" was sometimes frivolously used to refer to anything the speaker deemed somehow special or "cool". For example, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a well-known populist and nationalist politician of very ill repute, once referred to his and his political party comrades' going for a swim at a party-organized festival as a "Spetsnaz on the water", while speaking on camera. This somewhat intentionally extreme incident should give some sense of the extent the term has been debased for many less literate users.

Kashani: Regarding the bombing incidents in London, the Islamic Republic and the foreign ministry have expressed their position and condemned them. The entire Iranian people condemns this. Massacring women, children, old and young is entirely inappropriate for a human being, and cannot be accepted by anyone with a conscience. Iran has expressed its people's solidarity with the survivors of these incidents in London.

You speak of terror and Al-Qaeda. Have you forgotten who the mother and father of Al-Qaeda are? America is its father, and Israel its mother. It is the illegitimate child of these powers. You yourselves have brought it about...

Khamenei is the leader.
Death to those who reject the rule of the jurisprudent.

Presenter: Dear brothers, the Prophet Muhammad said: "Renew your belief." They said: "How can we renew our belief, oh Messenger of Allah?" He said: "By saying, 'There is no god but Allah'." There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Dear brothers, say "Amen" after praying for the Prophet Muhammad. Oh Allah, bestow success upon the King, for the benefit of Your servants.


Sheik Ahmad Khalil: Islamic law protects human life. While we condemn the killing of any Muslim and of any believer, whether Muslim or not, we also condemn manifestations of aggression against the peaceful and innocent, anywhere in the world. What happened in London, the attacks against peaceful and innocent people, among them Muslims and believers... This does not mean that the killing of non-Muslims - peaceful and innocent men, women, and children - is allowed. Allah forbade any man from striking fear in another man's heart, from killing another man, and from oppressing another man.


Following are excerpts from a Friday sermon delivered in the United Arab Emirates, and aired on UAE TV on July 8, 2005. The preacher's name is not available.


Preacher: What happened in a certain country, which was mentioned in the media yesterday, is a clear act of aggression, which is totally devoid of any logic, and is entirely unjustified. Whoever carries out such an act is not a Muslim, nor is he a religious person. This is the kind of criminal act that serves only those who wish to destroy mankind, and to thwart civilization and progress. Igniting civil strife and using the tools of war and destruction is the habit of the despicable Jews and Christians of the ancient nations, and the Koran has already deplored them for that.


The following are excerpts from an interview with Abd Al-Bari Atwa, editor-in-chief of the London Arab daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi


Atwan: There is no doubt that Tony Blair, the prime minister of Britain, got a good slap from these explosions. Tony Blair was at the height of glory up to the last moments before these explosions. When I say the height of glory, I mean that he succeeded in ensuring that London, the capital of Britain, will host the Olympics, and likewise he was reclining in his seat as the head of the G8 summit.


In addition, he began his term as leader of the European Union. Through these achievements, the man wanted to cover up the big failure incurred by the British and American policy in Iraq.


These explosions came and blew up everything.


They prove that the war Blair and Bush waged against terrorism, on which they have spent about 250 billion dollars, in addition to the killing of some 2000 British soldiers and 100,000 Iraqi citizens – this war up till now has not been successful.


If the Al-Qaeda organization is really behind these explosions, this proves that it has reorganized its ranks, succeeded in recruiting new expertise, and reaching the heart of the European capitals – Britain following Madrid, and maybe in the future – Washington or New York.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: The Federal Bureau of Investigation is trying to determine why an inactive member of the Navy Reserve allegedly forged travel documents and was en route to tour various Moslem countries. A complaint was filed in the District Court against David Evan De Boer for theft of government property and false statement.

The Texan is accused of forging military documents to take military flights at the government's expense from San Antonio, Texas to Japan. According to court documents, Boer took military flights from San Antonio to Travis Air Force Base in California, onto Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, to Guam, and then to Yokota, Japan. Security forces questioned Boer in Japan and found him in possession of a list of names and contact numbers in various Moslem countries."

Bomb Explodes in Trinidad Capital

A bomb exploded in a trash bin in downtown Port-of-Spain on Monday, wounding at least six people, officials said. Port-of-Spain Mayor Murchison Brown said on the radio that one person was killed, but Deputy Police Commissioner Glen Roach reported only that eight had been wounded, including two with major injuries.

WCG, I did a google and a dogpile search for his name and didn't find very much...nothing of importance. But when I used zabasearch.com (which is a great site for finding addresses..and free). There were a few addresses for his name in Michigan.

There have been more than few incidents involving servicemen who have had questionable Arab contacts. Hopefully they will all lead to some solid intelligence as the outcome to a disquieting problem.

The Department recommends that private American citizens in Kenya evaluate their personal security situation in light of continuing terrorist threats and the limited ability of the Kenyan authorities to detect and deter such acts. The U.S. Government continues to receive indications of terrorist threats in Kenya and elsewhere in eastern Africa aimed at U.S. and Western interests. Terrorist actions may include suicide operations, bombings, kidnappings, or attacks on civil aviation. U.S. citizens should be aware of the risk of indiscriminate attacks on civilian targets in public places including tourist sites and locations where Westerners are known to congregate, as well as commercial operations associated with U.S. or other Western interests.

American citizens in Kenya should remain vigilant, particularly in public places frequented by foreigners such as clubs, hotels, resorts, Western-oriented shopping centers, restaurants, and places of worship. Americans should also remain vigilant in residential areas, schools, and outdoor recreational events, and should avoid demonstrations and large crowds. In particular, there is a continuing threat against Westerners in the capital, Nairobi, and some locales in the coastal region. In addition to the terrorist threat, there are increasing incidents of criminal activity, including carjacking, robbery, and other violent crime, especially after dark.

Americans who travel to or reside in Kenya despite this Travel Warning are encouraged to register through the State Department’s travel registration website, https://travelregistration.state.gov. By registering, American citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency. Americans without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi. This Travel Warning is being issued to remind Americans of continued concerns about the security situation in Somalia. This supersedes the Travel Warning of June 7, 2004.

The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against all travel to Somalia, including the self proclaimed “independent Republic of Somaliland”. Inter-clan and inter-factional fighting can flare up with little warning, and kidnapping, murder, and other threats to U.S. citizens and other foreigners can occur unpredictably in many regions. There is no U.S. Embassy or other U.S. diplomatic presence in Somalia.

There have been attacks against foreigners in the self-declared "Republic of Somaliland" in northern Somalia. The Sanaag and Sool Regions in eastern Somaliland, bordering on Puntland (northeastern Somalia), are subject to insecurity due to potential inter-clan fighting. There have also been s everal fatal attacks against international relief workers, including Westerners, throughout Somalia and Somaliland. In addition, serious fighting has occurred in the Mogadishu area, the Puntland region in northern Somalia, and the districts of Gedo and Bay (especially the vicinity of Baidoa) in the south. Territorial control in the Mogadishu area is divided among numerous groups; lines of control are unclear and frequently shift, making movement within this area extremely hazardous.

U.S. citizens are urged to use caution when sailing near the coast of Somalia. Merchant vessels, fishing boats and recreational craft alike risk seizure and their crews being held for ransom, especially in the waters near the Horn of Africa and the Kenyan border.

The U.S. government cannot provide services to U.S. citizens in Somalia. U.S. citizens who plan to travel to Somalia despite this Travel Warning are urged to register and obtain updated information on travel and security from the U.S. Embassies in neighboring countries. Travelers to the self-declared “Republic of Somaliland” should register with the U.S. Embassy in Djibouti, and travelers to Puntland or southern Somalia should register with the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi.
