"Some people for their own partisan, political and ideological reasons want to jump on people that they perceive to be not with them."
Nice way to insinuate that you are the definition of objectivity, Dan. Suckers might believe it.

Dan, you claim that "the documents were part of a fairly wide array of information we had" and were "supported by all kind of things other than the documents" - but that is just a lie. If you had other documents you would have brought them forward by now.

You claim that it's not possible to prove that they are forgeries. Well, in the sense of metaphysical certainty that may be so. But the one thing that is certain about those documents is that, simply on the basis that they are not - to put it generously - originals, it could never be possible to validate them. And yet you claimed on nationwide TV that you knew that they were valid. That was a lie.

Simply on the basis that the "documents" purport to have been made decades before the advent of Microsoft Word and yet their formats just happen to match the default setting of Word makes them probable forgeries. Simply on the basis that they are multiple-generation copies - of four different purported originals which were purportedly kept closely and not found in all the years Democrats have been attacking GWB since he first ran for governor of Texas - they look like frauds. And the fact that no one can produce a contemporaneous document from TANG which looks like it was made on Microsoft Word is very nearly conclusive proof that the "documents" were made after the putative "author" of them died.

You criticise me for being "partisan," but you wanted those "documents" to be valid so badly that you didn't really care how fishy they were. If those documents prove anything at all, Dan, they prove that you are a liar. But then, that's not news.

"They often say, well, they dealt with fake documents or fraudulent documents. Let's just say gently that that's not known. That's not a fact."

So Dan, I have a document signed by you that was written in crayon and magic marker and run thru a copier. It says that you were molesting collies and washing your hands in the Holy Water of a church. I should assume it's genuine, right?

A prudent person might think of Rather as a lying sack of crap.

I feel a Monty Python moment coming on - with a sprinkle of poor old pompous Ted Baxter.

Or a ditty on the order of
Hello Mudder (for Roger Mudd)
Hello Radder
I am just a baby Adder
I'm a liar
And a crier
Wish I'd never ever heard of Bush
The flier

This is now a challenge to all phonically-challenged FReepers like myself;)

Keep guzzling that Kool-Aid, Dan.

It's obvious his hatred and envy of the Bush family has driven him literally insane.

Are you saying that W has "GORED" him?

Laura I. was saying this morning that when her late Mother was in HER late 70s she found lots of new interests and things to do... it's OK, Dan. Take a break, sit down and have a rest in the rocker, it's OK!

It's like the time they had to explain to Mike Tyson that he really did lose the fight. This nitwit is possibly even dumber than Tyson

Okay, Dan, then you tell us how an Air National Guard line unit in Texas in the 1960s and 70s got hold of a Windows PC and printer. I'm looking forward to hearing that explanation. I really am.

Dan Rather is walking proof that it doesn't require a high intelligence to be a journalist.

In fact it's probably an impediment.

Rather emphasized how "the documents were part of a fairly wide array of information we had" and were "supported by all kind of things other than the documents."

***

Oh really? Where was this "wide array of information" and what "kind of things other than the documents" did he have?

Methinks there was nothing other than the forged documents.
