Only accurate in the sense that there were bodily functions involved. No mention of toilets in the AP or Reuters reports...

Ahem.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fnews/1416104/posts

Seventy-four percent of those surveyed in Gallup's 2005 confidence poll said they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in the military - more than in a full range of other government, religious, economic, medical, business and news organizations........ The Gallup organization noted that public trust in television news and newspapers reached an all-time low this year, with 28 percent of responders expressing high confidence in them.

FOX just reported there were five cases of "book abuse" by guards at GITMO... PLUS there were FIFTEEN cases committed by GITMO detainees.

Personally, I couldn't care less about this "report". If pissing on a book irks the guys that are trying to kill our guys, I'm all for it.

described for the first time five cases of 'mishandling' of the Koran by US personnel

The press are LUNGING to get at this story.

FIVE cases of MISHANDLING! My GOD!

BTW, how many people did Saddam kill? Oh, right, that's old news. Kicking a book, now THAT is NEWS!

I guess dropping a Koran which we allow our prisoners to have puts us right up there equal with Al Qaeda, eh?

I really, really, really wish the press would get a clue.

Gitmo prisoners = suspected terrorists = Deserving of Sympathy, Amnesty/ACLU/etc. protection

Koran dropped = just as bad as being flushed down toilet

Dropping a book on five occassions = more outrage in press than OUR MILITARY PEOPLE BEING KILLED BY MUSLIMS!

This is a great example of the moral relativism being taught in our colleges, I guess.

I don't care what they did to the Quran. Yep, you got it! Burn them for all I care for the real Quran represents intolerance and violence! Nuff said!

Thanks !!!

I agree. But here is the problem. The media will pound this into the skulls of the masses until they are all chanting "Impeachment". This is just a build up--a paving of the case for the left to wear down Bush. Rush stated last year that Abu Graib will be the reason..and this is the second chapter of the book they are writing for the warrent to get rid of our President.

Nice, huh? We have to fight this crap tooth and nail. I hope people open their eyes and see how the left are trying to take over power and in the process, lose the war on terror and destroy this country.

What Reuters is doing is something of a byproduct of the President's claim that "Islam is a religion of peace".

If one follows Bush's statement to its "logical" conclusion, one *should* be outraged if this story is true.

On the other hand, one who understands the statement is a lie is quite legitimately unconcerned.

Check the information in post #11.

This country supports our military. They don't support the MSM.

They've tried for five years to take him down and have been unsuccessful. All they've gotten for their efforts is decreased majorities in the Senate and the House, as well as a tarnished MSM.

All this story will do is what it has down in past. Further cause a backlash against them.

Good point--they will use this as part of the "pattern of abuse of power which has ruined the US in the eyes of the world"--I can almost hear Babs Boxer chirping something like that.

I don't think it will stick. W's latest poll numbers are up again. I just think the left are pushing too hard. At the end of the day they've got nothing much. But there're 3 1/2 years left for them to try.
