American jailers at the Guantanamo prison base for foreign terrorism suspects splashed a Koran with urine, kicked and stepped on the Islamic holy book and soaked it in water, the US Military said on Friday.
US Southern Command, responsible for the prision at the US Naval base at Guananamo bay, Cuba, described for the first time five cases of 'mishandling' of the Koran by US personnel confirmed by a newly completed military inquiry, said officials in a statement.

The Newsweek report was about a Koran being dropped down a toilet. Does this article report that as being the case?

Enough! We have Jesus with dung, we have Jesus in Urine and we have the Bible spit on etc. All of this was in the name of art paid for by our tax dollars. I am tired of this now. I don't care what they did to the Quran. Yep, you got it! Burn them for all I care for the real Quran represents intolerance and violence! Nuff said!

I don't believe this. The Muslims probably did this to keep the story(lies)going.
They are running with this as a way of saying "See! See! It's true!" But it's not. Nothing in the article supports the Newsweek story.
If there's something more offensive to the Muzzies that pissing on the Koran, we should find out what it is and then do it....

What Reuters is doing is something of a byproduct of the President's claim that "Islam is a religion of peace".
If one follows Bush's statement to its "logical" conclusion, one *should* be outraged if this story is true.
On the other hand, one who understands the statement is a lie is quite legitimately unconcerned.

This country supports our military. They don't support the MSM.
They've tried for five years to take him down and have been unsuccessful. All they've gotten for their efforts is decreased majorities in the Senate and the House, as well as a tarnished MSM.
All this story will do is what it has down in past. Further cause a backlash against them.
I don't think it will stick. W's latest poll numbers are up again. I just think the left are pushing too hard. At the end of the day they've got nothing much. But there're 3 1/2 years left for them to try.
