Thanks!
As I've said . . . selective intelligence is a meaningless and unserious phrase. A President should not go to war if the intelligence is exculpatory. You show me, either in the Downing Street Memo, or anywhere else, that there was a body of exculpatory evidence with regard to the dangers that Saddam Hussein represented and I'll relent. Until then, what is the point?
I don't think DU Trolls can learn anything from me. That's like asking a Leopard to change their spots. Well that maybe too harsh. There are trolls that have only heard one side, the wrong side, the liberal side and have been told that their duty is to disrupt any logical argument with muddled BS. There are other trolls that actually have a partial brain left and will change their mind if enough common sense is thrown at them. Those are the ones that will come back to Freerepublic after they change their names and begin to learn the right way.

You didn't say "overwhelming" majority. You said "clear" majority. And by all accounts she did have that.
You cannot point to a time in history when a 60 vote majority (indicative of an "OVERWHELMING" majority) was needed to confirm an appellate court judge.
Besides, newbie, there is NO PLACE in the Constitution or the rules of the Senate that indicate a nominee needs anything more than a scant majority to be confirmed. Nowhere. All a nominee MUST have is a majority of the Senate. For you or the press or the Democrat or the RINOs to put a "clear" or "overwhelming" majority marker in place is to add to the rules in the middle of the game.
Such a standard has never been used in the history of the Senate so there is no reason to start now.
Any intelligent person can tell you: most, if not all, of these appellate court nominees DO have 51 votes in the Senate.
I've about had it with these so-called "conservatives" who think bowing to the U.N. and the Democrat liberals and the "moderated" thinking is an appropriate approach to governance. It isn't, no matter how much they say "Oh but my beliefs are sincere!" Horse crap is sincerely smelly, too. But that doesn't mean I have to swallow it.
Heck they probably wrote the thing.... ;-)
Thanks for the link, got that site bookmarked.
"Kerry still sucks!" Yes he does and Hanoi John can shove off. If you have a picture in a Noth Vietnamese museum what does that say about you.
Are you kidding me with this? How many times do I have to restate my point before you stop accusing me of criticizing the war?
Nader used to be able to get attention by spouting fringe-left Commie tripe; it had some shock value. Anymore, though, with Dean, Kerry, Pelosi, etc., having dragged their party squarely into moonbat territory, Nader has nothing left except to rehash mainstream DemonRat talking points. Must be frustrating for the old boy.
I didn't say anything of the kind. I'm responding DIRECTLY to your statements. You keep wanting to run away from them. I don't care if you support the President or the war. When you quit saying silly things like "selective intelligence" and we went to war with Saddam because we didn't "like" him, I'll be on to other quarry. But for now, you're in my sights. You strike me as a dissembler who is now trying to run away from the things you've said. Go back and read them yourself, and feel free to clarify what needs to be clarified. Repeating . . . just to be clear . . . this is not about your support for Bush or the war.
Never said we went to war with Saddam because we didn't like him, or that Bush went on selective intelligence. I suggest you go back and read I wrote carefully. I was reponding to a hypothetical, nothing I wrote reflected current events at all. It is you that is making this assumption, and you know that they say about assumptions... I am done clarifying, and if you still don't get it that's ok, everyone is entitled to a bad day.
