Change is good. 70's music is good.

"Change is good. 70's music is good."

That may or not be true, but baby boomers at the earlier end of the spectrem are getting left out in the cold. More and more t.v. and radio stations are catering to the 45 and under crowd. What about us in our 50's?

If it's anything like "Jack FM" (100.3) in Dallas - Fort Worth it's probably quite good. Austin's got "Bob FM". It's a strong format and fun to listen to.

I don't channel-surf as much as I used to in the car. They're good.

Disco is good? No wonder the country is so screwed up right now.

An even more bizarre format change was for the Bethesda, MD WHFS going from Alternative/Album Rock for 35 years to a Spanish only station without any previous announcement. People turned on their radios and thought the tuner was broken.

I figured it was that format. Our country station in San Francisco suddenly went away at lunch a few days ago in favor of Max. They mix up Aerosmith (good) with Elton John and Kiki Dee (very bad). It's a screwed up format ... not the good kind of eclectic like KFAT was and KPIG is. It's pretty stupid, and I tune out from it a lot.

The mid-late 70s sucked; disco and generic pop like Journey, for example, provided the soundtrack of the Liberal Golden Age (August '74 to November '79.) The only real good stuff came out of the emergence of punk/new wave. And I have my doubts that rock music actually made it into the 21st century.

"All right, Cincinnati, it is time for this town to get down! You've got Johnny - Doctor Johnny Fever, and I am burnin' up in here - Whoah! We all in critical condition, babies, but you can tell me where it hurts, cuz I got the healing prescription here from the big KRP musical medicine cabinet. Now I am talking about your 50 000 watts intensive care unit, babies! So just sit right back now, relax! Open your ears real wide and say, "Give it to me straight, Doctor, I can take it!" Oh, I almost forgot, fellow babies... BOOGER!!"
