Bumping for follow up. Seems an in-car video recorder could have cleared up a lot of this.
BTW, I applied for and tested with SFPD in 1990 or so (my wife and I were visiting from Dallas and she made me apply). Almost killed myself running the mile-and-a-half at 7000 feet, but finished it somehow.
Never got hired, but perhaps it was for the best. We would have had to live in one of the many trailer parks on the outskirts in order to afford it. Still, it's a beautiful city, even with all the liberals. :-)
Based on what I have been told, and from my personal experience (I've met some of these guys), the brass is always having a changing goal, and if you meet the goals, then its about how, if thats good, they will change the goals.
The brass sees to many of my friends as "social workers" and not as law enfrocement officers.
When you watch a friend you have known for years get BS'ed over lies, you will get defensive. I am pro-cop because I have seen the brass give them goals, then whine when they get them, if they go by the book, then brass changes the goals.
What about revenue agents masquerading as cops?
What about Unionized workers masquerading as public servants?
A public servant is the guy volunteering to pick up garbage in an Adopt-a-road program. Not a group that charges $16,000 to flag a few cars into a lot for a fireworks display.
