One of them is Christopher Hitchens, and the two things that most leftists really hate about him is that he actually has convictions that he stands by, and he's completely consistant in his views.
Another is Camile Paglia. I wish that I would have had an art teacher like her. I think that I might have developed an appreciation for art.

One way to distinguish the coherent from the incoherent. A coherent leftist sees a villain and calls them a villain. An incoherent leftist sees a villain and takes it as an opportunity to bash America and the West.
I'm no economist, but I know enough to know that if Krugman actually does know economics, he hides it very well.
Your favorite liberals and mine are identical. Hitchens and Pagilia have character and integrity. Almost all other liberals don't know what those two words mean.
"When one Democrat at the New York Times criticizes another Democrat at the New York Times..."
It's like a Stalinist purge...only the strongest Commie survives.
Usually I know it when I mess up a post. Thanks for letting me know this time!
>>"...watch the eyes dart back and forth."
You nailed it! Whenever I see him on TV, I can't stop staring at his weird eyes darting around like he's doing something bad and about to be caught by his mommy.
Seriesly? An Enron advisor?
Inquiring minds, you know...
Enron had some kind of "Advisory Committee" type thingie where they paid $50K for essentially a no-show job.
Inquiring minds Google 'Paul Krugman - Enron,' you know ...
ROFLOL!!!
Ewwww, the plot thickens!
Googling as we speak...
Okrent is the Polish word for warship. Sounds like Dan's salvo hit Krugman right at the waterline.
Not only do they have character, but both happen to be "characters" as well!
I may not agree with them very much, but I do respect them, and I have to say that I enjoy watching them on TV or reading what they have to say.

Merit matters. Okrent earned respect. Arthur Sulzberger Jr. picked the right parents.
I would add Nat Hentoff to that list.
Hentoff's right up there with Okrent. Good strong men. They're both fearless in defense of that which is fair and just. You can also add Jonathan Turley to the list...
We ought to start a Freeper List called "Liberal's We Respect". Not to be construed into meaning we agree with them! Of course their fellow travelers might ostracize them.
It's possible that all the liberals we respect have already been listed in this thread. Not that we agree with them - God forbid -- but definitely the ones we respect.
