I haven't checked - but I wonder how the AP is characterizing the "screams" for Michael Jackson when he arrived at court everyday.

California is NOT A LIBERAL STATE.
------
The only part of this comment is just take a look at the state legislature. Until that cesspool of liberalism is cleaned out, we still have a serious LIBERAL problem.

When questions are put to a statewide ballot, California leans very conservative. Aside from the 62% McClintock/Schwarzenegger vote total, there's numerous other examples through the years of conservative-leaning statewide votes, including the trouncing of the handgun ban.

The problem is that the conservative influence is deliberately shattered into gerrymandered puzzle pieces which guarantee a liberal majority in the statehouse.

Great thread, RonDog. Nothing's going to change unless we take action.

My comment was not about the legislature. My comment was about the public at large.

How many times have the libs in the state house tried to foist horrible legislation upon us .. we have petitioned to get a counter measure on the ballot .. only to have some stinking Clinton judge declare it un-Constitutional - a vote of the people cannot be overridden by a judge - ever.

So .. I'm expecting the 62% who voted for Arnold to get busy getting these disgusting democrats out of the state legislature .. and we also need to start demanding removal of these judges who say OUR VOTE DOESN'T COUNT.

Agreed. We have a major problem with the state judiciary recognizing OUR LAWS and THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. As just one example, take Prop. 22. I too have had it with these leftist, activist, law-breaking officials that think they can legislate from the bench, and those that think they can break our laws at will.

How do you propose that the 62% get those disgusting democrats out of office when every single last one of them is gerrymandered into an absolutely safe seat, and the influence of those 62% is scattered like dandelion fluff on the political winds? Didn't you hear that not a single seat changed hands last election?

Click on this link and behold District 15, snaking dozens of miles from Alameda County down to San Benito County.

Check out District 1, spanning hundreds of miles down the coastline of Northern California and encompassing parts of seven or eight different counties.

Check out District 20, which has protrusions that look like fractals, gathhering up and utterly destroying any meaningful influence of the voters.

Check out the LA basin, with districts that resemble an amoeba orgy, with District 39 curving around for miles and miles narrowing to a tiny sliver in one place.

The Democrats have districted themselves into an unassailable supremacy in the legislature, and they will continue to defy the will of the majority of California citizens until something drastic happens.

Schwarzenegger was apparently not drastic enough. And Reardon wasn't conservative enough for the majority of Californians.

And, just as ARNOLD is much better than Gray Davis -- but not nearly as satisfying as former Governor REAGAN....
...the currently proposed re-districting plan, which apparently uses (potentially very partisan) retired JUDGES...
...is MUCH better than the existing mess of gerrymandered districts where NO incumbent can be defeated: Republican OR Democrat.
There is currently LESS TURNOVER in the California State Assembly and Senate than there was in the old Soviet Union!

I don't know how to stop them .. but you can bet I'm going to be very vocal about it to my state rep. As a democrat .. she had better get the word out that we're mad as hell and we're not going to stand for them saying our vote is un-Constitutional; it's the judges who are un-Constitutional.

Did I say that?

There's a number of redistricting initiatives underway, assuming none of them are struck down by judges.

Well .. when you overwhelm people with so much negative information .. it might appear you think the situation is hopeless. If you don't .. then you should have said so.

The legislature does a good enough job of that as it is, so whatever else I might add is an extra kernel on a wheat truck.

WONDERFUL NEWS!

The forces of Darkness which had threatened to DISRUPT the graduation ceremonies
and PREVENT Governor Schwarzenegger from delivering the commencement address at
SANTA MONICA COLLEGE
next Tuesday (6/14)

and prevent the People of California from voting in a Special Election this November
have FAILED, and their rally plans are now self-destructing. :o)

Meanwhile, the "GOOD Guys" (that would be US!)
are getting STRONGER every day!

Please JOIN US at 4 pm, near at 16th and Pico,
and help promote our POSITIVE message:

I'm posting this at RonDog's request, and to give a quick update on a successful FReep at SaMo City College -- the gang is still "networking" at the after-party, so photos should follow!

Kudos to RonDog for organizing 20+ FReepers, plus some outstanding SaMo College Republicans who met at the corner of 16th and Pico in support of Governor Ahhnold, and to help counter the cancer from A.N.S.W.E.R. We had tons of media exposure -- all of the local TV stations, radio, and print outlets were there, and many interviewed folks from our side...
