Petition To Congress To Investigate The ACLU Document Shredding
Petition Online ^ | 5-June-05 | Jay777

Posted on 06/05/2005 2:37:21 PM PDT by Jay777

To: U.S. Congress and the American People There are but a few reasons to shred documents despite the wishes of your records manager. Either you have done something illegal or you have done something that violates the trust of an organization’s membership. According to the New York Times, The American Civil Liberties Union has been shredding documents at a frenetic pace despite the wishes of their records keeper. Since the ACLU is funded largely by the tax dollars of United States citizens we demand that the ACLU immediately disclose why they are shredding these records despite the advice of proper counsel.

We also demand that an independent party be assigned to ascertain the contents of these documents to ensure no laws have been broken and that the members of the ACLU have not been defrauded. Since the ACLU frequently files requests to gain access to the records of multiple government agencies, we demand quid pro quo. We demand that the ACLU proves to the American people that they are not engaged in illegal or unethical activities and ceases the shredding of documents until a thorough investigation is complete.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) - http://www.aclj.org

The Rutherford Institute - http://www.rutherford.org/

Stop the ACLU Coalition - http://www.stoptheaclu.org

"And that is good....right?"

Well, they are saying that this information is not collected without your knowledge, but in this privacy policy - which you acnowledge that you have agreed to in order to "sign" this petition - the knowledge that third parties collect this info is given to you.

Once its collected by these third parties, I suppose they could do whatever they wanted with it.

Those aren't documents the ACLU is shredding. What they are actually shredding is the Koran printed on toilet paper. That's been the standard toilet paper used by the ACLU for 27 years. Those reading this post need to spread this vital information to every Islamic nut job on the planet just as quickly as you possibly can.

Funny! I've got one guy who usually supports us dissenting on this one, saying we are jumping the gun.

Interesting poll. But how much in the way of tax $ does the ACLU receive, and how?

But anyway, this shredding of documents by the ACLU seems analogous to the destruction of documents by the forces of the Third Reich as the allies closed in on every side.

Thanks for the ping.

and ditto on your question. I was not aware ACLU received any tax $.

I can't believe just how hypocritical the ACLU has become. They are now backing hate speech laws. A far cry from their libertarian free speech stance of the 1960's.

And how about this from an organization whose NY head feels apartment building surveillance cameras are an invasion of privacy:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The American Civil Liberties Union is using sophisticated technology to collect a wide variety of information about its members and donors in a fund-raising effort that has ignited a bitter debate over its leaders' commitment to privacy rights.

Some board members say the extensive data collection makes a mockery of the organization's frequent criticism of banks, corporations and government agencies for their practice of accumulating data on people for marketing and other purposes.
