The Democratic Leadership and the Radical Left (Reid's Office "in near daily contact with Kos.")
EMAIL | 06/06/05 | Senator Elizabeth Dole

Posted on 06/06/2005 4:50:36 PM PDT by fight_truth_decay

I have watched with great interest and sometimes shock the ever developing closeness between some of the most radical, liberal groups in the country and the Democratic Party Leadership.

The Capitol Hill news publication "Roll Call" recently described the intimate collaborations that have occurred between the extreme liberal group "MoveOn.org" and the offices of House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, and The Democratic National Party Chairman Howard Dean. The article described the frequent strategy sessions and conference calls between the Democratic Leadership offices and MoveOn.org. This is the same George Soros funded group that once opposed military action against Osama Bin Laden and the terrorists following 9/11, and whose website featured videos comparing President Bush to Hitler during the 2004 campaign.

In March MoveOn.org hosted a rally that was attended by several Democratic Senators, including Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd, Deputy Minority Leader Richard Durbin, and of course Minority Leader Harry Reid. Not long after the rally, MoveOn.org spent millions of liberal dollars to buy television ads to distort the debate over The President's judicial nominees. They were joined in this endeavor by People for the American Way, the left-wing activist group whose agenda includes fighting against prayer-in-schools, opposing the ability to display the Ten Commandments in schools and public spaces, and protecting the right to desecrate the American flag.

But the most disturbing affiliation between the Democratic leadership and the radical left was reported last week by Congress Daily. They reported that Senator Minority Leader Harry Reid "has worked closely with liberal internet community sites like DailyKos.com and his office is "in near daily contact with Kos."

To illustrate what DailyKos.com stands for and who they represent, here's what the founder and head of the site had to say about the four Americans who were brutally murdered on the streets of Fallujah, Iraq, before their bodies were dismembered and dragged through the streets: "I feel nothing over the death of mercenaries [sic]. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. [Expletive] them."

In addition to mercilessly attacking President Reagan the day he passed away, the DailyKos also claims that "the French are right," calls the people who work at the Pentagon "idiots," labels Colin Powell "a liar," and describes the President as "a moron." The site also claims "there is no such thing as partial birth abortion." And when referring to casualties in Iraq, the site charges that "the American people don't seem to care anymore."

The fact that Senator Reid's office would even casually associate with this group is extremely disturbing, but the fact that his office "is in near daily contact" with this group is utterly reprehensible. The angry liberal left has officially taken over the Democratic Party. Their leadership has waved the white flag and surrendered the party to the most hateful, vitriolic, and extremist political elements in the country. So as the Democrats continue to do everything in their power to obstruct the President's agenda at every turn, they are being driven by a clear agenda. Their orders have been handed down by the extreme liberal special interest groups, and the Democratic leadership is obeying by marching in lockstep.

With warmest best wishes,

Elizabeth Dole

RedState.org reports over on his blog..."Harry Reid's body has been invaded by the spirit of Tom Daschle"........Daily Kos is an activist website with its own little army of committed liberals. Perhaps since they're talking mostly amongst themselves, they don't feel the need to articulate and promote their ideas on how to improve the country rather than simply oppose its opponents. But they should. Perhaps they think that being the "No Party" instead of the "Better Ideas Party" is a way to improve the country. Personally, I think that notion is misguided."

"Count the number of filibuster posts in the month of May alone (33 or so). So much energy spent over a stupid wanking Senate rule, so much energy wasted. Liberals are convinced they're right on the issues, but the problem is that the majority of America is not on their side. If they really want to stop certain judicial nominees, for example, they should do it the old-fashioned way: Win back the Senate or the presidency. But sadly, obstructionism-above-all is the prevailing wind. In fact, one of Kos' contributors wrote this on the front page:

"A minor point for discussion: I've been hearing talk in a number of places opining that the Democrats are "too reactive". That is, that instead of announcing policy proposals of our own, taking the initiative on issues, we are merely reacting to whatever gets tossed our way from the other side. Shouldn't we be ignoring sideshows like Justice Sunday and Ann Coulter, not letting ourselves get distracted by going 24/7 on parlor games involving Bolton, DeLay, etc? Shouldn't we use the extra time to promote our own agenda?"

"Hell, no."

And of course, the MSM doesn't even mention it.

Now, if a Senator was in "daily contact" with FR, the MSM would be all over it, as we're a "radical right wing fringe group."

"The angry liberal left has officially taken over the Democratic Party."

And I hope it stays that way! That Daily Kos site is one very scarey place, IMHO.

I love that woman. We need to hear more from her around here! :)

An e-mail from Dole complaining about Senators communicating with a fringe publication. Someone's missing the irony.

The Dims have nothing to lose if they commiserate with the radical communist left. They have lost the white house and both houses of congress. It looks like they're going to be out of power for a long time. Of course they'll take advice from these nuts and listen to all the conspiracy theories. What else do they have left? [ oooopps no pun intended there.]

Her reasoning: ..that Sen. Reid (office) would be almost daily linked with a group where the

"founder and head of the site had to say about the four Americans who were brutally murdered on the streets of Fallujah, Iraq, before their bodies were dismembered and dragged through the streets: "I feel nothing over the death of mercenaries [sic]. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. [Expletive] them."

.. fringe?

The Dems seem to be playing a risky game, making such gratuitous appeals to the far left and right of their constituency. It would seem that a Hillary presidency under the current radical climate is contingent on fooling at least one group completely, and having both of them think it's the other.

Could split 'em wide open, if both sides begin to think it's them.

Hillary probably thinks that the radicals know who she is and will eventually get in line no matter what she says publicly.

A truer statement could not be made. Hillary has and always will be a leftist marxist radical, unfortunately many people don't pay attention. In her speeches she almost always in some way gives a wink and a nod to her base, the KOS crowd. New Haven nine, Saul Alinsky, some things speak to character and the nature of the beast. And I do mean beast.

It boggles my mind how people can look at what is happening and ignore the facts and pump out the BS that fits their agenda. Naw.....actually it doesn't.

I think the GOP could do a much better job at countering the continuous howls from the Left about the 'radical right.'

Afterall, if the agenda of the 'radical right' were to implemented, it would be through democratic means, and of course its agenda on things like gay marriage also happens to be the agenda of most Americans.

The Left, however, has the Courts do its bidding.

Which is more radical? The GOP needs to make the distinction clearer.

NRSC sends out the Chairman's email regularly. First time I started receiving one was from Senator Frist, then Senator Allen in the last election, and now Senator Dole is head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and sending out these emails.

Do not believe there is a link to the actual email but you can get added to their email list at www.nrsc.org. Check out the website -- pretty good information on there.

Well, Reid is a sponge, not a leader. If Kos is going to dictate what he thinks, then his actions are going to be even more predictably leftist than before, and he will fail every time.

The Democrats are fools, when it comes down to it. They think that by going Bolshevik, they can somehow will the majority into allowing them to regain power. Since it won't work, they will subsequently go insane like Dean already has, and start making idiotic and paranoid accusations.

Hillary seems to have fallen into this trap too. This is good news folks, the Democrat meltdown continues apace.

DailyKos is where Kerry is getting all his info re the Blair memo which DailyKos believes shows that Bush lied and fixed the intel in order to go to war.

However, today on Brit's program .. Ceci said she didn't believe there was anything there .. which is stunning because Kerry believes this is a smoking gun. But .. if Ceci believes there's nothing there then the MSM is not going to do anything about it .. and Kerry is going to be left standing there looking like the idiot he is.

Why include this? Is Mrs. Dole against the right for a citizen to burn or 'desecrate' the flag? I hope this isn't an example of 'Republicans' pushing for 'big government' to stifle freedom.

Yeah, it may be a case of me expecting and seeing only the worst, but it just seems there isn't a very forceful response in the mainstream media to the lies about the 'relgious right.' Of course, its hard because of media bias, but I just wish our side could do a better job of pointing out the truth of the matter, which is that the Falwell's of the world will not impose anything on anybody; while on the other hand the Left uses judges to impose one radical social policy after another on the entire nation.

I mean, which is an imposition of values: huge majorities (that clearly encompass many non-religious right voters) voting to preserve traditional marriage; or a few judges mandating a radical redefining of it?

"isn't a very forceful response in the mainstream media"

A few weeks ago Rush ran a story on his radio program and then put it on his website. The story was originally printed in the LAT. It was a story about legislation which Harry Reid wrote and rammed through the congress - which benefitted HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Rush was livid about it - and kept it posted for several days on his website.

NOT ONE MEDIA OUTLET - EXCEPT FOR FOX - PICKED UP ON THE STORY.

It doesn't matter if it's in the "mainstream" media - it's the internet, talk radio and the conservative blogs which are spreading this news.

I don't want to belittle the importance of these other news outlets -- they're great -- but the mainstream media still reaches more people than any other single source.

At least I think they do. That's why I don't write them off as unimportant, especially in reaching the so-called moderate suburbanite type of voter.
