A multidrug-resistant tuberculosis known as MDR-TB is persistent in California, primarily among its "foreign-born" population, and has serious financial implications for the state's public-health system, federal and state health officials said yesterday.

"Treatment for MDR-TB is very expensive -- ranging from $200,000 to $1.2 million per person, over an 18- to 24-month time period," said Dr. Reuben Granich, a lead investigator for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, during a press conference in the District yesterday.

"And he said its presence does not warrant closing U.S. borders."

But of course not, Americans are expected to be the third world's B*tch. After all we can't protect Americans if it means the Political Whores and their traitorist Pro-Illegal supporters are going to lose a few dollars. 1776 gets closer and closer everyday.

My city has the second biggest TB caseload in the state. People that work at city hall have tested positive for exposure because of the endless parade of Third Worlders whyo come in for handouts.

It's important to note illegal aliens are the problem. Legal immigrants are given tests for TB prior to the granting of their visa, and if the test is positive they are denied entry to the US.

Could someone more knowledgeable than me list all the benefits and upsides to the Criminal Alien invasion?

Thanks!

A neighbor has been trying to give me some cheese that his family makes in Central America. They get it here somehow without going through normal channels. I finally told him I couldn't eat cheese because of my high cholesterol. I think that finally discouraged him.

There are now problems with these illegal imports because of the various diseases they carry. I get the impression that the "importation" of cheese and other special foods is a major industry among both legal and illegal immigrants from South of the border.

Is TB a disease that children get as well?? If so, this could spread very very quickly in schools it seems.

It's benefiting someone, or it wouldn't continue apace as it has.

It's definitely not helping the taxpayers, both fiscally and medically (not to mention criminally, environmentally, etc.).

The situation could add to California's financial burdens -- along with other states with a burgeoning immigrant population. States must honor the 1985 federal law guaranteeing emergency care regardless of citizenship or finances. A study from the U.S.-Mexico Border Counties Coalition, for example, found that the four states bordering Mexico are still owed more than $200 million in costs from the emergency treatment and transport of ailing or injured illegals.

Secure the borders. Bill the illegal's country of origin for these costs.

Mr. President, what were you thinking in that meeting with Fox?. We are waiting.

Michael Savage has been warning of this for 2 decades. In fact it is one of the principal reasons he made the switch from science to talk radio. We are destroying ourselves in so many ways.

Saw another thread on FR a week or so ago that stated the leprosy rate in this country had not just doubled or tripled but was like a hundred times higher in just the last few years.

Gee, ya think Vinnie could be exporting his medical and economic problems?

And yeah, this is Bush's fault.

AG Gonzales on Laura Ingram (SP)? this am :when asked about the border said: "its a complex issue".

yah complex like secure it or don't. he explained that we are a nation of immigrants and basically implied that illegal immigration here for reasons other than terror is really not a problem. WOW!

Very worried the Republican party leaders DO NOT GET IT.. Dems I will vote for the 1st leader that promise to stop illegals cold and secure the border

George Bush and the other elitist RINOs could care less that honest hardworking middle income Americans get TB. They are above you and I, we are the insignificant little people to them. Most of the violent crime in border states is committed by illegals. More taxes, more welfare, more drugs, more terrorism - but Bush doesnt care because illegals are heros and those protecting our border are "vigilantes". Im done voting for RINOs, Id rather know my enemy than have this enemy from within.

Whenever someone says an issue is "complex", they really mean "I don't want to talk about that because I don't have a good answer". Liberals are famous for using this dodge.

"AG Gonzales on Laura Ingram (SP)? this am :when asked about the border said: "its a complex issue"."

It's about as simple an 'issue' as it gets. I really don't get this whole thing. We're in the middle of a war and securing our perimeter is "complex"? Let's ship Gonzales to the middle of Falluja, build a small fort around him, then leave the doors unlocked and wide open. Let's see if he can figure out the "complex" issue of securing a perimeter when a mob of Iraqis comes after him. Betcha a dollar to a donut the "issue" becomes a whole hell of a lot more simple when it's his arse on the line.

Build a wall from the Pacific to the Gulf and patrol it with massive numbers of troops. Give them orders to shoot anything that comes above, below, around, or through that wall. Guard duty's about as simple as it gets for military guys. It's not hard if I can outline the plan with Crayons; we just have spineless traitors selling our country out to sovereignty-violating invaders.

In the U.S., almost 15,000 cases were reported last year, with 53 percent of those cases found in foreign-born people ILLEGAL ALIENS

Had to fix that since all immigrants that get in legally are tested for TB and blocked if they are positive.

BTW. I was at the doctor a couple of days ago and I asked about these diseases. She said it is MOST DEFINITELY TRUE that they're returning. Big time.
