Fox News Hires Former Miss America Gretchen Carlson
June 10, 2005 12:13 p.m. EST
Douglas Maher - All Headline News Staff Reporter
New York, NY (AHN) - Fox News has hired former CBS Early Show Host Gretchen Carlson as a regular part of the Fox anchor team. Carlson will make her debut on the number one rated cable network on June 20th. "I am thrilled to be joining Fox News, especially at a time when they are skyrocketing through the industry," said Carlson.
According to her CBS Bio, Carlson is the recipient of three American Women in Radio and Television National Awards, for an investigative report on day care and for a 30-part series on domestic violence; two Ohio Press Club Awards, for Best Newscast in Ohio and a First Place citation for public service reporting (1997); and two local Emmy Awards (1994, 1996).
Carlson was born in Anoka, Minnesota. She graduated with honors from Stanford University in 1990 with a degree in organizational behavior and studied at Oxford University in England. In 1989, Carlson became the first classical violinist to win the Miss America title.
She has one child.

She has one child. So I suppose we can assume she's married?

Hardly unattractive, but for a former Miss America, she is no way near Kirin Chetry, Lauar Eggleston, Laurie Dhue, Heather Nowart, or the Fox Friends Anchorbabes.

I would have preferred the White Ho, but it looks like she will do. At it won't irritate me just to look at her the way it did with Rita.

Judging her from her CBS reporting where she had no other choice but to report biased scripts,it's hard to tell.

Juliet often strikes me as a little hungover on Saturday morning. Makes her more attractive for no particular reason.

I seem to remember liking her whenever I saw her, but that wasn't much.
What an impressive career jump to not even have a degree in journalism and win so many awards and go to FNC like she is doing.

Gretchen was a Senior when I was a Sophmore. She was in the same orchestra class. She played violin and I was a viola.
She was a lot hotter back then.

That's actually a recognized disorder in the DSM-IV, I believe.
But as long as you don't think she can hear you when you talk to her, I guess it's OK.

Odd the way it was stated in the story.
She has one child.
You'd think it would be: She's married and has one child.
