CLARK COUNTY, Ark. - A girl kidnapped in Michigan and her suspected abductor were found in Clark County Arkansas Friday. Authorities believed they may have been heading to Colorado.
Fourteen-year-old Nicole Poddig is now with authorities in Arkansas.
Her suspected abductor, 28-year-old Jamie Channer, has been taken into custody.
Law enforcement officials say Poddig was taken at gunpoint from Michigan by Channer. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation put out an alert Friday that they may be headed to Colorado.

Life without parole which is worse... Worse for me anyway since my tax dollars will be keeping this scumbag's sorry ass alive.

Yeah but in SuperMax they get no TV no radio, no books. Only correspondence. Pretty ugly.

No! No! Interstate flight with a minor! The Mann Act! Federal Crime! He will do hard time! I don't think Michigan has anything to say about it.

I don't believe taking books,tv and radio away from this animal
is worse than death. The taxpayers and the victim's family are big losers in this. If my daughter was his victim, bail would be much worse because I would than be able to dish out the proper justice myself and if my books and tv are taken away so be it.

Yea, that's why the perps all fight so hard for the death penalty rather than life in prison.

Hanging is slower and is more of a deterrent when you leave them hanging until the body separates from the head. ;);)

What about books? I could get a lot of reading done in an environment like that. I mean, when I wasn't getting raped or beaten or shivved and stuff.

A missing Comstock Park teen has been found safe

Link: http://www.woodtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3457167&nav=0Rceasi1 |
(Update, Grand Rapids, June 10, 2005, 12:10 p.m.) The search for a missing Comstock Park girl is over. 24 Hour News 8 first reported the disappearance of 14-year-old Nicole Poddig during Daybreak Friday morning. We have learned she has been found safe in Arkansas, and a man is being questioned in the case. We spoke with Poddig's family who said she went missing on Sunday. Police originally thought the girl was kidnapped at gunpoint by 28-year-old Jamie Channer, who is a wanted felon in both Texas and Michigan. Now police say Poddig left with him and was not abducted. An Amber Alert was even issued late Thursday night for the teen. Police in Arkansas and Colorado were looking for the girl, and according to the Kent County Sheriff's Department, Poddig was found in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Poddig and Channer were seen in Arkansas two days ago and the suspect told friends he might go to Colorado. But they never left. Poddig is said to be fine and Channer is in custody and faces pending charges. |

Actually it costs more to execute criminals. All the appeals cost millions in attorney fees and court costs.

Put him in my county jail for a weekend before sending him to Supermax. Some joker got permanent hearing damage along with vision damage and broken bones from the ass kicking given to him.

i think life without parole actually costs us taxpayers less due to the appeals process associated with death penalty cases. On that note - Pedaphiles are usually targeted in prison by other inmates and do not have long life expentancies regardless. I'm sure this guy will have some coming.

Why is that? So that FDLe can equip him with a gps bracelet when he's put on probation and released into society? A guy cut his gps off the day after Jeb signed the Jessica Lunsford Act and was missing for several days.

Why is that? Your comments are a joke right?
What states have the highest execution rate?
Where is Tate?
Why don't you ask Ted Bundy?
What state did he escape from?
And that dude is back in prision for the forseeable future.

Actually, the problem with hanging began with a real shortage of skilled hangmen.
A large percentage of the time, the felon was not properly hanged,in which the neck is snapped and death is near instantaneous, but strangled, which is long and slow by comparison.
