Isn't it ironic that every time the Feds announce that they froze more terrorist funding, Air America announces more financial difficulty?

Franken:

"I only did cocaine to stay awake to make sure nobody else did too much cocaine. That was the only reason I did it."

Would they still be on if not for the big-money lib bankrolling? I still smile every time I think about the fact that in the last ratings period (listeners 12+), they did not even show up in the ratings in...BOSTON. Anemic ratings just about everywhere (except Seattle and Portland, ME). When a Providence station dumped its conservative hosts for Err
America, their ratings promptly got lower...and lower...
and lower.

We should cut Al a little slack. Afterall, if there were even ten people in the room, that's probably 5 times his normal audience, and he just got carried away at being able to reach out to so many at once....

My hope is that Dean steps down as chairman of the DNC and is replaced by Al Franken.

O'Reilly's ratings are sky rocketing. Franken is tanking nationwide, Thanks Al, for the extra publicity.

Franken: "I only did cocaine to stay awake to make sure nobody else did too much cocaine. That was the only reason I did it."

Did he REALLY say that? Do you have a source?

If he did say it, was it part of a comedy bit, or was he serious?

If he was serious, it's a priceless soundbite that should be oft heard and quoted.

These guys (Franken, Moore, etc.) just kill the Democrats' chances of winning majorities. Long may they rant.

Al Franken is likely suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

People with narcissistic personality exhibit a persistent pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration and a lack of empathy.

They have an exaggerated sense of self-importance, are absorbed by fantasies of unlimited success, and seek constant attention.

The narcissistic personality is oversensitive to failure and often complains of multiple somatic symptoms.

Prone to extreme mood swings between self-admiration and insecurity, these people tend to exploit interpersonal relationships.

Onset is early adulthood.

Some of the typical signs are:

grandiose sense of self-importance.

exaggerates achievements and talents

preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty or ideal love

believes that he is 'special' and 'unique' and can only be understood by, or should associate with other special or high-status people

requires excessive admiration

sense of entitlement. (unreasonable expectation of special treatment by others)

interpersonally exploitative.. uses others to his advantage
lacks empathy

envious of others

arrogant behavior and attitude.

Al's radio program is played every night on Direct TV Sundance channel #549, run by Robert Redford and his friends. Al's show must be bad, because the TV part is awful. This dolt did indeed hasten and speed voters to reelect President Bush, and yes, you might say there is something in what those have said about keeping him around. I think Direct TV should hear a little about fair in their program schedule. Balance is not in their vocabulary.

"...the Air America star wound down his rant by talking about his visits with Iraq-war vets. “The soldiers were so magnificent,” Franken said, appearing to suppress sobs."

They've been through hell... now they come home and are subjected to this liberal idiot?

What I find interesting is that in contrast, people don't want Rush Limbaugh III to stop when he does public speeches. That's the big difference when Limbaugh respects his audience, not talk down to them with a condescending attitude.

>>Al's show must be bad, because the TV part is awful.

For the heck of it, I tuned in a couple weeks after the election and he was talking to someone about voter fraud in Ohio. Incredibly boring. A Boston-area radio station owner
who is known for his liberal views has said several times that Air America is simply badly done talk radio.

In Boston, WXKS-AM was a standards (Sinatra, Clooney, etc.)
station which got a 2.4 in the ratings. WKOX-AM was an ethnic
station that didn't show up at all in the ratings. When
Air America debuted on both stations, WXKS tumbled to
a 0.6, then a 0.4, and then a 0.0...WKOX initially went up
to a 0.6 but is now 0.0 as well.

In Providence, WHJJ got ratings like 4.1 and 3.5 as a conservative talker. In came Air America, and the ratings dipped to 2.6, then 2.2...in many markets, Air America
couldn't even get one percent of the audience. Philadelphia: AAR's WHAT gets 0.7, 0.6..."The Big Talker", WPHT (Smerconish, Hannity, etc.) gets 3.8, 4.1...(source: radioandrecords.com)

That's the beautiful thing about freedom of speech. It gives the Dems unlimited opportunities to show that they are completely arrogant, immoral, seditious, and egotistical morons they really are! Let 'em keep talking!
