If you are not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

Define "wrong." Can you? I dare you.

A small reminder that only about 5% pulled off the rebellion of 1776.

I absolutely love that idea!!!

We could send it, compliments of FR, to the most deserving LEGISLATOR (as determined by a FR poll), say, each quarter.

Let's do it!!!!

SEC. 208. DESIGNATION OF JUDGES.

Section 103(a) of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1803(a)) is amended by--

(1) striking `seven district court judges' and inserting `11 district court judges'; and

(2) inserting `of whom no fewer than 3 shall reside within 20 miles of the District of Columbia' after `circuits'.

Could someone familiar with the Patriot Act, please explain to me what (1) and (2) mean?

It's not a question of justifying actions...

I only meant that the Clintons never had a Patriot Act to back up anything they did, they just did it anyways. The Patriot Act would make every corrupt thing they tried to do legal.

I agree with you, voted the same way too. Freedom is not free, but restrictions from this act should be repealed when this threat has passed.

I understand what you were saying, but I'm not sure if you understood me. My point is that there are certain things they were physically unable to do without the Patriot Act. No matter how much they wanted to, or how little respect they had for the law, there is no way they would have been able to prosecute someone for disclosing that one of their minions had snooped on somebody. Under the Patriot Act, they'd have had that advantage.

Gotcha. They did 90% of what they wanted, the P.A. would enable that last 10%.

I wonder how many people are reacting emotionally to the Patriot act thinking it would allow authorities to come in their house and take their marijuana stash?

Isn't that so true...My first reaction was NOT one of fear against my government, but against the ENEMY of my Government.

This is to all those knee-jerk, reactionary, "my freedom before your safety", libertarians: If you think you are not being monitored by camera right now, or having your financial or medical records examined, already...you are fooling yourself.

I smile and wave at the cameras at each intersection on my way home. They're everywhere!

Another one for whom freedom is just a throwaway word. There are plenty of other countries to choose from that share your philosophy on freedom and "safety". I don't know why you guys insist on infesting this one.

If you are not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

Who gets to define what is "wrong"? Hillary??? Pelosi??? Teddy "the drunk" Kennedy????

That is why I say strike it down, and restore the 2nd Amendment to it's rightful place of Honor.

I don't know why you guys insist on infesting this one.

Because there is a war going on...people are trying to infiltrate our country and KILL US.

It's kind of like anti-biotics...you don't want to take them all the time. Just when there is an invader attacking your body.

That's why I voted extend/expand. When the danger is over, I believe all our freedoms should be reinstated. This has always been the case during war times.
