Ohio 2nd House District Coming Trickling In (It's close between McEwen and Schmidt)
WLWT-TV Cincinnati, Ohio; County Boards of Elections ^
Posted on 06/14/2005 6:42:54 PM PDT by Columbus Dawg
McEwen and Schmidt are neck and neck.
Schmidt tore up in Clermont County (around 3000), her home county. That is keeping her in this thing.
McEwen won by a nice margin in Warren County (1500 or so), and Brown County (about 600). He and Schmidt are running neck and neck in Hamilton County (McEwen was winning by about 200).
No results from Adams, Scioto, or Pike.
Pat DeWine is in 4th.
Schmidt has opened up a bit of a lead on WLWT, probably Clermont coming in.

I think a lot of Freepers were rooting for Brinkman.
They felt he was the only true conservative in the race.

They felt he was the only true conservative in the race. I don't know if that's true. I was pro-Brinkman and I'm happy with the results.

Oh man, there were long lines everywhere!
I couldn't believe it but somehow Diebold put voting machines in Columbus for this race and when I wanted to vote for Brinkman it lit up DeWine! It was awful!
There were election intimidators everywhere!
I wanted to cry!!!!!

After what DeWine's daddy did, when he shafted the Republican leadership in cohorts with Rino McCain, I am happy to see him running in 4th place. I wonder what 'daddy' thinks about this now?

Has Bush won Ohio yet? Ohio Secretary of State Blackwell burned the ballots, erased the memory on the electronic voting machines and had all the boards of elections rounded up and shot right before he declared George Bush President for Life. < /DU paranoia mode>

Brinkman kicked DeWine's butt anyway, he got like twice as many votes as little Pat. And Schmidt, the 1st place candidate, is pretty solidly conservative in her own right and will vote our way 90% of the time.

WOW -- that's pretty hot stuff. I gotta admit I thought the DeWine-is-imploding folks were being a bit too hopeful.
Congrats to Jean Schmidt, another pro-life woman in Congress!
