NEW YORK – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) today announced the arrest and indictment of New York City Police Department Sergeant Martin Peters on charges that he murdered Juliet Alexander, the mother of his two children.
Ms. Alexander was a Detention Enforcement Officer with the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, now a part of ICE. Commenting on the Peters indictment, New York ICE Deputy Special Agent-in-Charge Salvatore Dalessandro said, “Today’s arrest brings this case one step closer to bringing closure to the law enforcement brothers and sisters of ICE and the family of Juliet Alexander.”
The indictment alleges that on January 16, 2001, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Nigel Calendar, a friend of Peters, went to Alexander’s apartment at 365 Pulaski Street, to drop off clothing belonging to Peters’ and Alexander’s children. Alexander and Peters were both there. Peters allegedly told Alexander he would discontinue making child-support payments and struck her. Prosecutors believe that when Alexander attempted to flee, Peters shot her in the head and then shot Calendar. Peters threatened to kill Calendar and his family if Calendar revealed Peters’ identity to the police. A couple of days later, Peters visited Calendar at Kings County and repeated the threat.
Peters was arraigned today on an indictment for Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Intimidating a Witness in the Third Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
Peters also faces federal charges for immigration, bankruptcy fraud and defrauding the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He was arrested on those charges in April of this year.

I can only guess at this point that NYC would deliberately hire an illegal because of some "enlightened" policy. I really don't know. But it wouldn't surprise me if they subsequently promoted him to meet AA goals.
I guess his ex girlfriend being an INS worker would assist with those loop holes if they were there.
When your wife works for the immigration service. This whole mess stinks up NY city law enforcement and the federal law enforcement groups involved.

Well, she paid for her complicity in this unlawful act. However he got the job it was illegal and the city of New York should be trying to find out who was responsible for this crime. Hiring an illegal is, of course, illegal. I would imagine NYC is subject to the same laws as the rest of the country but maybe not. Anyway, this poor girl found out that not all illegals are honest, hard working baby sitters, just doing the jobs Americans won't do.
If illegals are so great and no threat to our country, why is it we hear so much about them in the news committing one crime after another? Just a thought.
