"Today, the WH is ruled by men who suppress liberty at home and spread terror across the world. Power is in the hands of a Diebold-elected few who have retained power through an electoral process that ignores the basic requirements of democracy."
Probably, but I haven't seen him before.
I'm calling for the firing of Mr. Smith. Of course, I have no authority at the London Times but why would that matter. And, by the way, Mr. Bush did not initiate a foreign policy that pledged to regime change in Iraq. That was inherited from the Clinton administration which was too feckless to carry it out. And the Afghanistan phase of the War on Terror was and is ongoing. Bush did not "need a war for political purposes".
Just what "skills" are those, basing prime time TV news stories on faked memos from the National Guard? Yeah, that'll really get you somewhere with a public largely skeptical of "mainstream" news.
Yeah, I just don't get that argument that Bush "wanted" war with Iraq. Maybe seeing Sadaam in his undies was a bit of payback for Daddy, but the rest of this baloney? Who would WANT this? He's doing it because it needs to be done, it's the right thing to do, not for jollies.
Hatred of those who even dare to whisper an opposing viewpoint is the coin of the realm among the left. All their crap about "tolerance" and "diversity" and "intellectual freedom" are all just masks the leftists put on to hide their pathological hatred of any opposition. Just look how the Clintons absolutely destroyed any and all who dared to oppose them. Leftists are all for "diversity" and "tolerance", as long as it is for things they agree with. If not, they'll destroy you.
Please cease your interference in American domestic affairs.
Yeah, and Dan Rather still believes the memos to be genuine.
The more I hear about the players in the DSM matter, the closer the parallels to Rathergate.
I have just read the latest memo that is the basis for Michael Smith's story. It actually is a pretty clear and concise summary of the thinking that should precede any major military action. Its constant and unequivocal focus on WMD are very important. There is no sign whatsoever that this concern was part of an excuse - the Brits believed the WMD were there and represented a major destabilizing factor. Of course, the issue of regime change is not straightforward - but it is also clear that Blair and his cabinet had zero, absolutely zero belief (or trust) in Annan's ability to get Saddam to agree to full UN inspections.

IMHO we should make sure these memos get seriously read. AFAICS the Dems are pointing at the word "fixed" and interpreting it as "made up" as opposed to "focused". Lets encourage the original writer to say what he means in words the Dems will not be able to twist and distort.
Why are the ramblings of a british tabloid reporter considered front page news?
The people claiming this is a "watergate story" are nothing but liberal KOOKS. All the same players who have been trying to trash President Bush since 2000 when they claimed "he stole the electtion". It didn't work then and it won't work now.
I would say to this clown: "Ya know Michael from the UK? Clean your own house before you dare to even know anything about ours. You have no say in our government so stay out of affairs you know nothing about nor is none of your business. By the way Michael..have you called for the impeachment of Tony Blair?"?
Michael....TAKE A HIKE!
That the document is fake is unimportant, it's the accuracy that we liberals must focus on.
Lets see...how many centuries ago did the English lose the ability to tell us what to do?
Don't get me wrong. The Brits are great, one of our few loyal allies. It is their elite and media that bite the big one.
