One Way to Gitmo - (HA! one of the best articles yet on the topic! Dustin nails it!)
CHRONWATCH.COM ^ | JUNE 18, 2005 | DUSTIN HAWKINS

Posted on 06/18/2005 3:32:30 PM PDT by CHARLITE

You know things aren’t going well for the Democrats when their main fighting issue is what the room temperature is at Guantanamo Bay’s Motel 6. Among the brilliant ideas of the “We Support the Troops” party is to close down the island-resort prison center affectionately referred to as Gitmo. The people most upset about the “torture” are mainly a bunch of leftwing, bed-wetting socialists who have never supported the war in any form or at any stage, but who we are now supposed to take as objective, credible persons.

Senator Dick Durbin (D-Idiot) breathlessly announced the extent of the torture found at Gitmo, which included 1) a room that was too cold, causing a detainee to shake; 2) a room that was too hot, causing a detainee to sweat; and 3) a room that was filled with loud rap music. Anyone learning of this information would undoubtedly, according to Durbin, compare this to the slaughter of several million non-terrorist Jews in Hitler’s death camps, around three million persons murdered in Stalin’s gulags, and a few million more massacred by Pol Pot’s rampage in Cambodia.

Not only is such a comparison stupid but also it is irresponsible. If it is true that such situations create terrorists, as Durbin suggests, then it probably doesn’t help to exaggerate a point beyond believability. Al-Jazeera was originally going to use a headline that read “Infidels torture prisoner with bad music and Florida-like weather,” but now they can use more entertaining headlines like “U.S. Senator likens torture of Muslims to Holocaust, millions of Muslims likely incinerated by giant oven.” Hey, Durbin, thanks! You make us proud.

But the idea that liberals have of normal Arabs sitting around just waiting for that breaking point as to where they decide to check into a terrorist training camp and blow themselves to pieces because they are super-angry is rather absurd. Normal Arabs don’t do that; the crazy ones do. And the crazy ones are already terrorists.

But that is beside the point. Americans are bad. Bad, bad, bad! Among the other things we do to American-hating terrorists and 9/11 co-conspirators is: feed them seven-course, culturally-aware meals, allow them to pray six thousand times a day, and give them prayer beads and prayer oil. (As opposed to mass starvation, denial of religious services, or random removal of bodies from heads.)

Inasmuch as hundreds of thousands of people risk their lives just to sneak into our country, which they sometimes call the Great Satan, it is rather obvious that our atrocities aren’t quite atrocious enough. If we are going to be accused of doing really, really mean things to ruthless savages we might as well do them already. No offense, but putting on puppet shows and playing Christina Aguilera CD’s (our other documented forms of “mistreatment”) sounds less like the activities of hardened torture facility and more like those of Neverland Ranch.

My personal choice would be the Saddam Treatment, a unique brand of torture developed and tested by the former dictator himself, which would be equally suitable (and oh, how ironic!) for testing on his Gitmo-detained former subordinates. If Arafat was the Father of Modern Terrorism then Saddam is the Father of Modern Torture. In his pre-dictator days, Saddam worked at perfecting torture techniques. Such innovative torture ideas included eye-gouging, the drilling of holes in a person’s hands and pouring acid on the open wounds, raping women with broken glass bottles, tying victims up and slowly lowering them into pools of acid, cutting off ears and tongues, ripping out finger and toenails, and among many other things, giving heavy electric shocks to the body and genitals. But hey, at least he didn’t make them watch re-runs of the Golden Girls.

I’m sure that Congress will continue to argue for closing down the prison for absurd reasons, most likely with a brave bipartisan effort including liberal Republican Arlen Specter and liberal drunk Ted Kennedy. But if we must close Gitmo down, can we at least send the prisoners to Abu Ghraib?

This sounds like just about any room in the barracks.

To: CHARLITE; All

He left out one of the very gross methods of Saddam's torture .. he would bring a persons' family together and then he would put the person through a tree shredder - while the family was forced to watch.

After we went into Iraq - a large building was found to house thousands of bags with a label on them. Each label included the name of the person (whose remains were in the bag), and what his crime was. Funny .. none of the crimes included murder. These were the people who had been put through a shredder.

And .. the democrats are upset because of panties on a person's head (but the guy still had his head);

Defecating and urinating on themselves (while they still had their internal organs);

Playing music too loud causing them to pull out their hair out (while they still had their hearing);

Turning the A/C off so it was 100 degrees (while the American solider was wearing full body armour in 130 degrees; and

Finally turning up the A/C until the poor things were shivering from the cold (at least they still could feel - unlike the guy who went through the shredder).

The President needs to demand that the videos of all this REAL TORTURE be put on TV and played over and over and over - so people can tell the difference between TORTURE and interrogation.

Doesn't this doesn't mean what it says? I can sign the petition anyway, but I don't want to gum up the works with an invalid signature.

For weeks at a time my son sleeps on the bare ground without a tent or sleeping bag when he and his Recon team are out and about. Right now the tempature where he's at is around 110 degrees. I know he slept in the mountains out west in snow and freezing weather. He has an MP3 player which he blasts his ear drums with music that would make most people weep.
Tell the dems and their terrorists friends at Gitmo to suck it up and until they have it worse than our Marines tell their sorry story to my middle finger!

"I'm in PA and did my best to get rid of Spector ... I'll keep on trying"

If you haven't written an email to Specter the ghost, try to force yourself to do so regarding the turbin deal. I wrote him demanding something be done. After all Arlan is a true blue, aheem, American patriot who has utmost respect for our troops right? My wording made me look like I assume he really does care and will do his part with all Senators whether they are RINOS or real Republicans to at least make it known publically that Durbin truely aided our enemy, during a time of ongoing war against this enemy. The Arab press will probably continue to have a field day with his seditious and treasonouse comments.

The petition shows a pop up list that asked to choose a state.

"I vote for "Hyannisport", myself!"

Teddy, John & Tuhrayza and Teddy's nephew, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, will yell "NIMBY!!"

So, we should have some back-up locations....like right behind Joe Biden's house in Delaware, or in one of the many facilities named for Robert "Sheets" Byrd, in W.VA!

Can you think of some other prime real estate on which to house these bloody terrorists? There must be a wide selection.........Babs' Malibu neighborhood? etc...

Thanks, Gritty! Nice spirited reply!

That was the apartment I lived in for 22 years till I moved out 3 1/2 years ago. Heater sucked, air conditioner never worked properly and the neighbors playing their crap at all hours of the night.

Think they'll let me into Gitmo? At least they're getting 3 squares a day.......

No need to thank me. Incidently it appears the petition form has changed within the hour. It no longer offers a choose of states, which indicated to me anyone was welcome to sign it.
Perhaps a lot of folks from states other then Illinois where giving it a go, and someone did not want non residence to participate. I am glad I got to sign up and give a few harsh lines about this jerk.

A room that was too hot? I don't have air conditioning like millions of other's who don't have air conditioning! Are "WE" being tortured? LOL!!

A room filled with loud rap music. Anyone who has teenage kids has a room filled with loud rap music! Are our kids being tortured??? And another thing, that sounds like a racist comment to me. Most rap music is produced by African Americans and I don't like racists! Which gives me all the more reason to dislike Durban for his comments!

The one thing the Dums fear the most is Freedom and self-reliance by people. (The disabled and elderly, etc not included in this comment)

they have absolutely NO power if they don't have a destitute underclass, for them to "help". This group of people is their political pawn. The last thing they would like to see is everyone to be happy, free, and living their lives without the "billiant" guidance of the Dum elite.

...or he is just happy because he's not laying in a dump out on Long Island?

This perp was supposed to be on Todd Beamer's United Airlines Flight 93. Apparently, the hijackers came up one person short on September 11.

From what I've heard, this idiot almost made it into the US one month before the 9/11 disaster. He was turned away by an immigration official because his English sucked (although his friend did make it by the checkpoint.) He went back to where he started and was captured in Afghanistan by our good guys.

Now he gets orange-glazed chicken and rice pilaf. My heart doesn't break because he's too hot or cold...
