It's only as boonie-far (a term?) as the nearest reasonably-sized airport.
WG & RA are both superior courses (as far as layout) to indianapolis. yes, it would've cost $$$ to get them up to spec, but it would have been better than indianapolis. Too bad they didn't think farther-ahead those years ago.
Same thing, too many foreign sounding names in the show.
Yes. Obviously they didn't exercise that option, for whatever reason.
thanks- found it..
oops sorry read it wrong...thanks for the correction...
It IS an international series.
I don't get it...were the drivers taking a stand against Michelin or were the Michelin drivers taking a stand against the track??
F1 is raced all around the world.
Duh.
Michelin- another example of French stupidity(they brot the wrong tyres to Indy), quit, and surrender. All North American Racing fans should heretofore boycott Michelin. Furthermore, its' pure Gaullist condescension that they asked the F1 to change the track and put in a chicane in the race-F1 rightly refused. Perhaps the F1 should had let Michelin change the tyres this morning in order to have a race for the 150,000 fans present.
Why don't the drivers just slow down in that turn?
NASCAR had a similar problem years ago when they first opened Talladega -- the tires were shredding in practice and qualifying due to the high speeds, so the drivers refused to race. NASCAR ended up running the first Talladega race with replacement drivers basically hired off the street.
Of course, now it's Firestone's problem!
LOL! No wonder Formula One does so badly in America. LOL!
Good footage of Albers comiong around and running through the pits!
The last time I tried to buy Michelin's the dealer talked me out of them saying he wasn't going to stock them anymore, since they listen to their accountants more than their engineers. The Coopers I've been buying since work just fine.
I realize that, but I am telling you, it will never be as popular in the states because the average race fan isn't into that type of set up. When the races were held in Nazareth, Mario's hometown, hardly anyone paid for a ticket, they were all given away, the track is closed now.
the french guy on the coverage just said "it was a big mistake by Michelin"...how long before they try and blame this on President Bush??
The teams decided to stay in. Drivers are under contract to the teams, so they have to do what the boss wants.
They're interviewing the drivers - dumb, since they HAVE to be team-positive and FIA positive.
Dreck daly sounds like a d_ck too.
One of the commentators stated something that perhaps Firestone told its sister company, Bridgestone, about the problem and thus, that's why they're not having problems.
Give them time...the race isn't over yet.
---Why don't the drivers just slow down in that turn?---
What is this "slow down"?
Michelin is taking a 3 month vacation break.
