Family Fight Ends In Deadly Gunfire
A family fight escalates to gunfire and ends with a man shooting his mother in law dead. It all started around three Sunday morning in Southern Greenville County on Kentwood Lane.
The Sheriff's office says the mother in law pulled out a gun and started shooting at the fifty-one year old man. That's when the man took cover in his bedroom and grabbed his gun from under the bed. He stuck his head out and the mother in law shot again but missed.
That's when he says he returned the deadly fire shooting her once in the stomach. So far no charges have been filed against the man since three witnesses at the home corroborate the man's version of events.
Just damn!
Wonder if alcohol was involved?
A mother-in-law with a gun is like having a pitbull on crack.
McCoys: Hey! Thems fighten words! (Bang!)
MIL from Hell ping.
T-Shirt slogan I once saw:
Okay, wild guess . . . He was beating his wife and her mother decided to put an end to it? Why else would a little old grandmotherly mother-in-law go over to her daughter's house with a gun strapped to her thigh?
A similar incident happened in our county over the weekend. Two teen-age sons saw their father with a knife to their mother's throat. They got the rifle, somehow she managed to get loose and call 911. Just six minutes later when LE arrived, both parents were dead. The father had grabbed a rifle, shot her and the kids shot him trying to protect their mother. So, so sad. Thankfully, no charges.
And the lesson here? Always be a better/faster shot than your Mother in Law. ;)
Not unusual for SC.
Somewhere deep in this story it is Bush's fault.
I was thinking exactly that.
Up in Sellersville. The father had just gotten out of the psych ward that he voluntarily admitted himself to.
She may have been making a delivery of moonshine.
A+
I'm not sure there was any alcohol involved. What this article doesen't mention is that the shootout was in a motorhome. Trailer park culture gone bad. Real bad!
These kinds of incidents make my skin crawl. They reinforce the stereotype of gun owners as hot tempered ingnoramuses.
Thank you. I didn't know that detail. BTW, I just love Sellersville and that area. We hope to move in the next year and I just told our real estate agent that's where we want to search.
Damnation. I've heard about men and their mothers-in-law not getting along, but this takes the cake.
At this point, I just want out of Bristol TWP.
Some of us gots to be :-)
Yes, it's pretty rough there. We often see incidents there on the nightly news. When I visited classes at Bensalem HS, I was told that people are moving there from the city so that their children can go to Bucks County schools. We'll have a house on the market soon!!
You might be a redneck ...
OK I was wrong. Maybe I don't have the worst mother in law.
Pit Bulls have not created as much discontent in families...
Neither has crack.....
(climbing into flamesuit...)
Well maybe you didn't before this, but now that the woman in the story is dead you may.
bang ping
