I won't defend Kissinger as I hate his policy. Realism is a failed policy for which we are now reaping the wind.
Reality check time!!!
Nehru himself give the go-ahead for massively increased military cooperation with the US after the Sino-India war of 62.This included armssales as well as espionage into China. It was under LBJ,that the US overtly started tilting towards Pakistan & refused India fighter jets, naval upgrades among others, which the Soviets willingly supplied.About the point on getting to it's feet,it was under Indira Gandhi that the Green revolution(for food sufficiency) took place.
JFK did have any edgy start with India esp with Nehru's ambitious non-alignment moves. But the Sino-Indian war saw him rushing to India's aid(despite it being only a few weeks after the Cuban missile crisis).
Like I said, playing both sides of the street.
it was under Indira Gandhi that the Green revolution(for food sufficiency) took place.
It was during Ghandi's regime, not "under" Gandhi. She had nothing to do with it. The green revolution was developed by the West and basically transplanted to India.
Playing both sides didn't include buying Russian arms till 1964 & what exactly is Ghandi regime??
Oops,I forgot that the definition of US ally is a servile client state.
How many troops?
This is a great fantsay and one I would support if it could be real.
Enough troops and special ops to take out the Paki nukes. Note: I'm NOT saying we should occupy that little cess-pit. All I'm saying is that the Pakis having nukes is dangerous -- far more than India or China having nukes. Why? Because they consider those nukes not Paki nukes butIslamic nukes. Why? Because they freely spread those around to terrorist regimes like IRan, NKorea and even tried to sell them to Libya (they probably have already given them to the Saudis). Why? Because they WILL give nukes to terrorisst groups -- the nukes that would explode on US soil would be coming through Pakiland once Mushie goes and Mushie WILL go, sooner or later.
