It's more than that. I just can't stand people who think they have a right to work where they're not wanted. Unless he had a contract, he has no moral right to force this company to accept him anymore than the gays have a right to force him to accept them. It works both ways.
Progressive is owned or ran by one of the biggest contributors to the DNC and other lefty causes. I'm sorry--don't remeber the name, but he's a liberal's liberal.
Yeah. Looks like it. This is ridiculous. Now I don't feel so bad about being in blatant violation of their dangerous dogs policy.
I think HR departments at many companies have been infiltrated by them.
Why is it so hard to believe? An employer thinks they own you, to the point of thinking they have a right to control everything you say and do both inside and outside of work.
So this action should come as a surprise to no one.
Barber should be be suing. I hope he wins. What I do outside of work is quite frankly none of my employers' damn business.
Your in A$$muncher hands with allstate...
Posted my comments to a pulled duplicate (rather than locked thread).
I won't bother wasting my typing skills restating my views.
This dupe could also be on the chopping block.
There are right and wrong ways to manage duplicate threads.
Should I post my comments to both remaining threads?
I'm really confused.
I hope he wins in a big way.
I agree with you that it will be interesting to see what the other side has to say. However, considering that they were jerkish enough to try to cut off his unemployment bennies says that their PR really stinks. They are coming across as abusive bullies right now...
"Progressive Corp.'s chairman is Peter Lewis, who gives more money to Democratic-leaning groups than any other person, according to the Center for Public Integrity."
My term for HR people is Tovarisch Zampolit - comrade political officer.
Don't get me started on HR people.
That might be exactly what they want. If you really want to kick them in the balz, file a claim.
(Unless it's life insurance) LOL
I totally disagree. How many books, articles, columns and letters to the editor are written without disclaimers on them. In the U.S. it is called "Freedom of Speech" and as long as the truth is told no disclaimer is required.
"You're in queer hands, with Allstate!"
You got that right!
Good on ya!
I think Allstate had every right to fire this guy. If he does not "measure up" to Allstates ideas and desires for employees to follow, then they had every right to dump him. Just as every church has the right Not to hire gays for their office work, Allstate has the right to fire someone who is publicly against the gay community if Allstate supports such.
Furthermore, if community groups and grassroots organizations want to organize a boycott of Allstate, THEY have every right to "fire" Allstate as their insurance carrier.
A business should be able to fire anyone for just about any reason they want to fire them for.
Curiouser and curiouser PING
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
Very similar to the article I just pung out to my other list. So now if a person holds views that his employer disagrees with (especially if those views are consistent with religious beliefs), said employee can be summarily fired.
This is not separation of church and state (which should have nothing to do with public policy or law since it is not in the Constitution), this is an example of the push to eliminate any reference to God, His laws, His memory, any symbols or words or books that remind people of His existence from schools, the workplace, the roadways, neighborhoods, and indeed, anywhere except your back room with the blinds down.
What they don't realize is that God cannot be ripped out from the core of the heart.
What's next? I'm actually getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach - this last SCOTUS decision eliminating the existence of private property ownership might seem not to have much to do with this article, but it does.
Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.
Good for the employment department to do the right thing too.
Wow, they fired him over it? Unbelievable! Wonder what it will do for allstate's business when the word get's out. These companies just don't get it do they?
The New Blacklist: Corporate America is bowing to anti-gay Christian groups boycott demands
I hope this turns into a big, big story. And I hope Allstate shells out megabucks for this. There will be more and more such situations in coming years. Sooner or later, the big corporations will be completely hostile environments for anyone who dares to express conservative views on social issues. The fascist left will see to it. and the corporations don't have the ballz to resist.
Deluge Hewitt, Rush, and Hannity with this one. They need to be screaming about it.
Heheh - I just clicked your link, and I pung it out. Good, basic reference article.
And the guy got fired. Hatespeech, that's what Allstate thinks it is. Well, if we used Allstate, we'd quit.
ALLSTATE is a pro-fag outfit which discriminates against Christians.
PROGRESSIVE Insurance is owned by Peter B. Lewis, who in 2004 gave $4.5 million to MoveOn.org
As Michael Savage said, "Diversity" = Perversity. Truly we have become a nation worthy of Orwell.
They'll have to grow a pair or watch their clientel dwindle to nearly zero and their bottom line turn red. People are starting to get fed up with the radical left and their forced acceptance of deviant behaviors under the guise of "Diversity" Hit em' where it'll get their attention! Their pocketbook.
I agree that lots of people are fed up, but how many people will really take their business elsewhere? Especially if the whole corporate world goes this way?
You are far more optimistic about this than I am. But I hope you're right, because it will become a huge problem.
I have not the slightest doubt that it will get worse before it gets better.
Spurred on by a biblical injunction evangelicals call The Great Commission, and emboldened by George W. Bushs re-election, which is perceived as a mandate from God, the Christian right has launched a series of boycotts and pressure campaigns aimed at corporate America and at its sponsorship of entertainment, programs and activities the Christers dont like.
And its working. Just three weeks ago, the Rev. Donald Wildmons American Family Association (AFA) announced it was ending its boycott of corporate giant Procter & Gamble maker of household staples like Tide and Crest for being pro-gay. Why? Because the AFAs boycott (which the organization says enlisted 400,000 families) had succeeded in getting P&G to pull its millions of dollars in advertising from TV shows like Will & Grace and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. P&G also ended its advertising in gay magazines and on gay Web sites. And a P&G executive who had been given a leave of absence to work on a successful Cincinnati, Ohio, referendum that repealed a ban on any measures protecting gays from discrimination was shown the door.
Well, better than nothing.

I emailed Allstate's home office today informing them that after 45 years of insuring my home and all my vehicles through Allstate, I am now shopping for another insuror(s) for the 3 auto policies which are due for renewal in Aug, and for the blanket homeowner's policy which expires next Feb. My local agent represents several other large insurnce companies, and I will visit his office next week to discuss replacing my current Allstate policies.
I had no idea that Allstate's management has been donating money and other forms of corporate support to pro-sodomy organizations for years with a part of the money I payed in premiums. Allstate's management is free to cater to radical left wing organizations which promote and subsidize the depraved lifestyle of sodomite perverts if they choose to, but I don't intend to help pay the bill for their PC nonsense.
That's what "gay pride" does for those who believe it. People become so convinced that there is nothing wrong with their foolishness that they eventually believe they can do NO wrong! ALL the rules go out the window as long as it promotes what they want!
