Yes. The Egyptian, Jordian planes and tanks were massing just for a large parade. And all that rhetoric about driving the Jews into the sea was quite literally hot air.

It was a preemptive strike, but war was inevitable.

It was hardly a land grab. The land seizure was incidental, not the primary goal. The Palestinians have had opportunity after opportunity to form their own state in the West Bank and Gaza. In fact, ignore the opportunities they had before, they have another now. Why don't they tell their terrorists to lay down their guns for a few months, take Israel's offer and work on building a viable state, instead of targetting innocent civilians?

Sorry. I don't mean to preach, but the Palestinians have hardly shown that they've bargained in good faith over the years. It kinda makes me upset. I do want for them to have their own state though. I just hope it can be accomplished without any more dead Israelis or Americans.

Oh, I agree. But, technically, Israel took the offense, not defense.

"Why don't they tell their terrorists to lay down their guns for a few months, take Israel's offer and work on building a viable state, instead of targetting innocent civilians?"

Israeli civilians started moving into the territories right after the '67 war. When did the Palestinian start their intifada -- 1987? 20 years after the occupation?

Seems to me their patience ran out.

"but the Palestinians have hardly shown that they've bargained in good faith over the years."

True. Neither side has (witness the wall -- excuse me, the "fence").
