ROVE'S REMARKS

Rove's remarks

Published June 25, 2005

Liberals woke up yesterday morning wondering what happened to their Democratic Party. Literally overnight, the Democrats had become the President's staunchest supporters in the war on terror. As much as we welcome the party's change of heart, we were surprised to see that it was precipitated by the architect himself, Karl Rove.

The White House Deputy Chief of Staff, speaking at a dinner Wednesday night of the New York State Conservative Party, had a few words on "state of liberalism." In particular, Mr. Rove compared the conservative reaction to September 11 to the liberal reaction. "Conservatives saw the attacks and prepared for war," he said. "Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers." Pretty much sums up the last four years for us. Michael Moore, George Soros and MoveOn.org would certainly agree.

Democrats, however, are outraged. Taking the comments personally, six Democrats fired off a letter to President Bush asking for Mr. Rove's apology. Sen. John Kerry -- who last year promised to wage a "more sensitive" war on terror -- sent an e-mail to supporters asking them to sign a petition admonishing Mr. Rove for his "purposeful attack on the patriotism of those who dare ask the tough questions." Apparently, Democrats are just as determined to wage a war against terror as Republicans. Who knew? They might have a point if Mr. Rove had directed his remarks specifically at Democrats.

Five of the six signatories of the letter did vote for war against Afghanistan; four against Iraq. Wiser Democrats clearly understand that the American people don't trust their party when it comes to national defense. There's no mystery why future presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, who voted...

Excellent read :-)

The Democrats are suckers, Rove suckered them in and the Liberals on the SCOTUS have frightened almost every property owner in America with their recent decision on Property rights. The American people are beginning to see what the MSM has been hiding from them for years, and I'm quite sure they don't like what they see!

Best part of the article is the very end:
Democrats should reread Mr. Rove's comments and realize that he was in fact diagnosing their problem. Instead, they have decided to act like hypocrites. Well played, Mr. Rove.
Good on you, Karl!!

Wesley Pruden stands tall. Shoots straight and speaks the truth!

It's amazing how quickly the Dems snapped back. Must be a new record for embarrassing Knee Jerk Reactions.

Jack.

That was a master stroke of "strategery" by Karl Rove. Calling out democrats by addressing them as they are, "liberals". The prime suspect Karl was addressing "Hillary" fell right into his trap instantly morphing from self-declared moderate back to "liberal" and screaming the loudest defending her fellow liberals. They don't call Karl the architect for nothing. The run up to '08 will be fun to watch as Karl undoubtedly has many more tricks up his sleeve.

Rove said what everyone knows, even those who hate him.

Anyone doubting that this sucker hit the bullseye only has to see the uncharacteristic jittery response HRC gave--she seemed ready to lose it.

And would someone please tell John Kerry that the "questioning our patriotism" thing no longer fools anyone?

56k is the absolute pits! But, living out in the country is nice. Too bad we'll probably never have DSL or cable out here :)

I checked out satellite but it's damned expensive (around $80/month for just internet) and I've read and heard there is an annoying delay.

Oh, well....

gotcha!
The whole thing is that now, the Dem's can't criticize
the president cause it makes Rove look right. and if
they don't criticize the president, it makes their
looney base of left wing sycophants mad(and isolated)...
He's making them do a big balancing act.....they like
running the show...

P.S. have you noticed that the media always acts like
what they say or uncovered is the truth, and that
the whole issue was decided by them (no matter what
the issue is)

">"And would someone please tell John Kerry that the "questioning our patriotism" thing no longer fools anyone?"

We all now know where loyalties the Dimwit senator DirtbagbenDurben are. The cooperation (silence/coverup) of the rest of the Dims told US where their allegiances lay also!

JoKe we DO NOT question your patriotism AT ALL. We now know to whom you pledge allegiance.

It had me in stiches!

It is a good read, probably Pruden. His style is usually easy to spot, even though the editorials in the Times are unattributed.

I bet the Posties hate this paper! LOL!

Not to mention that all of these slurs against the military and voting Americans will make great campaign ads against the Dims.

These days there are probably more Liberal Republicans than Conservative Democrats (Zell Miller...anybody else?) as the Dim party moves left.

Recent news events have led more and more sensible Dems to defect to the GOP (or "independent" status). "I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me."--Ronald Reagan. Thus all who are left are liberals. Heard Jay Severin (on his WTKK show) mention yesterday "if you had a room full of Independents and asked them if they used to be a Republican, no hands will go up. If you ask them if they used to be a Democrat, everyone will raise their hands."

With some notable exceptions like Zell, Dems are libs. And Shrillary masquerading as "middle of the road" is just a charade. (Notice how quick she came to the defense of
her fellow libs?)
