THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON SEX
New York Post ^ | 6/26/05 | HEATHER GILMORE

Posted on 06/26/2005 9:08:52 AM PDT by Conservatrix

The days of faking it are over.

Scientists who studied the brains of 24 people during orgasm could readily determine exactly when the earth does not move for a faker.

Researchers also found couples can literally get "cold feet" when having sex, and that what women have said for years is true: When it comes to arousal, it's a simple matter of sensation for men, and all wrapped up in a state of mind for women.

If it's all in the woman's state of mind, then why are men blamed for not 'doing their job'? There's only so much you can do with what the Good Lord blessed us with.

If a woman is receptive and a man is patient and knows what to do, why should there be any faking outside of porn flicks?

That's true if she doesn't speak up...

If she fakes it and does so happily...is it a problem?
As always all a girl has to do is say something in the sack and her needs will be met...I mean...it's not like a guy won't happily oblige.

To say "Won't change the way men are in the bedroom" is a hasty, sweeping, generalization. IMHO

How long do you suppose she'll stay interested thinking like that?

Well...my point is...there is not much you can do unless she tells you, right?

Sure, she might lose interest but whose fault is it then?

If she fakes it...and it seem pretty darn real. I am not going to ask her if she faked it, thus, I will never know.

I am not so sure what this study proves...other than if you want to know what's going on...attach some sort of monitoring device to your female partners brain...ohhhh...that will go over well.

It's what I am inferring based on the thesis of this ARTICLE.

They had to use some sort of scientific method when coming up with their conclusions...so, I assumed some device has to be in operation.

Probably find it at Wal-Mart...or Tricia's decadent house of pleasures down on the corner.

Sigh.

Guess I'm just old fashioned. If people are having sex they should know each other long and well enough to be comfortable giving small guidance.

And I'm sorry if your ego, Mr. Male (not you specifically, IHSV), is so fragile that you can't handle the fact that merely being in you presence doesn't trip my trigger.

To use a phrase from the sixties, fake orgasms are so plastic.

While not wanting to brag, I will say that early on, I figured out that for women, it was much more in the brain. A bit of time invested can pay of BIG. One can get them extremely aroused without even touching them, but I wont get into details.

I always leave them smiling, or rather sleeping. I dont know why most men act like this was such a mystery. I think its just laziness on their part.

Guess my deadpan sarcasm doesn't work too well on a Sunday morning....

Speaking of Sunday mornings...

Upon hearing that her elderly grandfather had just passed away, Katie went straight to her grandparent's house to visit her 95-year-old grandmother and comfort her. When she asked how her grandfather had died, her grandmother replied, "He had a heart attack while we were making love on Sunday morning."

Horrified, Katie told her grandmother that 2 people nearly 100 years old having sex would surely be asking for trouble.

"Oh no, my dear," replied granny. "Many years ago, realizing our advanced age, we figured out the best time to do it was when the church bells would start to ring. It was just the right rhythm. Nice and slow and even...Nothing too strenuous, simply in on the Ding and out on the Dong."

She paused to wipe away a tear, and continued, "He'd still be alive if the ice cream truck hadn't come along."

A type of Japanese entertainment with elaborately costumed actors performing bizarre stylized traditional plays. Everyone in the audience already knows the story and the players actions on stage are supposed to always be the same.
I think a better analogy for the previous poster would have been a bird's mating dance, unless he really gets into the costumes. :) (google up kabuki and you'll see what I mean)

From the article:

"What this means is that deactivation, letting go of all fear and anxiety, might be the most important thing - even necessary - to have an orgasm."

Being in love, in a committed relationship, is definately a plus for this.

I think its just laziness on their part.

I think it's dull wittedness.

It would seem obvious that:

1) Each partner's enjoyment of the act gratifys the other and directly leads to a more intense and satisfying experience.
2) If the object were a race to ejaculation why wouldn't the dullard stick to masterbation?
