Ok here is MY two cents on this, and it will come as no surprise. I am gong to call CCV tomorrow(citizens for community values) and see if they are aware of this. In 2000, I believe, I first heard wind of a totally "gay" channel, and I did this then telling them to let TWC know, that IF they want to peddle a gay channel, they had BETTER make it an OPTION, not a part of the basic or digital cable package, OR many people would drop their cable, including me. SO I am going to remind them of this, so they can alert TWC and inform them that we here in the CIncy area do NOT want this demonic, filthy, EVIL, perverted, trash on our cable system, and if they are going to put it there, it had better DARN well be a premium!!

I have already notified my family, that IF this does come to Time Warner, and it is NOT an option, that you do NOT have to pay for, SO LONG, CABLE!! And believe me, I do NOT want to do that, BUT I will NOT help to support that evil, and the old "just don't watch it" is NOT good enough, in this case-- because if it is part of a basic digital or analog cable lineup, you ARE paying for it, AND I WILL NEVER, NEVER, help to support this demonic trash!!!!!!!!

I'll have to see what Comcast does here in "da Burgh" (Pittsburgh Area) with this channel if it ever comes about. I think the best thing with cable is you should buy your channels "al lacarte" where you can buy each one, say for pennies a month, which I think is how much you pay when you average it out. I love my tech, history, and science fiction channels BUT not this crap. Man, I don't get Sci-Fi anymore since the "cable pig" moved it up to digital, money being tight right now, I just get all the analogue channels. I remember one Freeper here said that he lives in a college town and if Sci-Fi was bumped to digital, there would be a riot. B-) I think it sohlud be the same for satellite dish owners too.

I don't want to be feeding my 1982 (or 1970) Zenith that junk so keep it away from your RCA 2000 too. B-)

This network will undoubtedly be a recipient of the private sector's version of a subsidy: nobody'll be watching it, but it'll be kept on anyway because the agenda is more important than viewership to Viacom. Last I heard, Oxygen's ratings were in the basement, but it's been on here for years now. That's one of the downsides of cable, is that they can operate certain areas of their business outside of the realities of supply and demand.

That's how it should work though. As to "Oxygen," they should call that channel, "Carbon Monoxide," it spews out more pollution than a 1976 East German Trabant. B-)

I wouldn't mind a cable network devoted to gays if they got rid of all of that gay crap that permeates every other channel. They should just have a channel called "The Closet" so that the Queer Eye guys and "Will and Grace" an Ellen Degenerate and all of those other perverts can do their shows, and the other 98% of cable networks can be wholly devoted to the 98% of the population that is not gay.
