Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

Thanks for the warning, Gail. You know that your weather comes on over my way. We've had a bit of "warm" weather, but nothing extreme. I love the warm weather. I even love the hot weather. It beats the heck out of winter. I don't get all the complaining about hot weather in the summertime. It's supposed to be hot in the summer. It seems to me that it's not as hot as it used to be. 100 plus degrees was normal in Tenn. when I was growing up. In 1982 in Va. it got 110 degrees and our pet rabbit perished in his pen in the shade. I felt so guilty.

At a little before 5 I decided to run to lake for a few hours & let oliver swim & me beachcomb.. that was the magic key..IT IS POURING HERE....Thuderboomers, etc.

Hi to all our friends at the Finest. Thankyou Billie for a new Hall of Fame. I actually looked back at some early threads..bittersweet ones like when I was heading for the airport to take care of dad while mom would be hospitalized...only to have her die the next day. So much history here.

That being said...as we all prepare for the President speech tonight...am posting the link to victory day 2004...gosh we were happy campers. (My thread was done basically by dansy and billie as halfway through the night I gave up and had a we lost thread. BAD ME!!! ) But loved reading all the enthusiastic comments that day. P.S. Mayor and all, my cousin's daughter, Deanna joined the Air Force, she went in on July 20th, will be graduating from boot camp on August 2.
We are all so very proud of her.
